The start of the 2026-27 NHL season is officially upon us so as the puck drops on the new campaign, we’re taking a look at the betting landscape for futures and awards betting markets. Outside of the Hart Trophy, the Vezina might be the most prestigious individual award in the sport. The award may have been dominated by just a couple of names over the last three or so years, but could we see a shakeup this time around?

Here are the Vezina Trophy odds along with some predictions and best bets to win the award on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Vezina Trophy Odds

The Vezina Trophy is a pretty straightforward award that’s given to the NHL’s top goaltender each year. Last year, Andrei Vasilevskiy took home the trophy, and he was a finalist in the prior season as well. Prior to Vasilevskiy, it was won in back-to-back seasons by Connor Hellebuyck.

Here are the leaders in odds to win the 2026-27 Vezina Trophy on DraftKings Sportsbook:

  • Connor Hellebuyck (+450)
  • Logan Thompson (+750)
  • Ilya Sorokin (+750)
  • Andrei Vasilevskiy (+800)
  • Igor Shesterkin (+1000)
  • Jeremy Swayman (+1300)
  • Jake Oettinger (+2000)
  • Jacob Markstron (+2500)
  • Jesper Wallstedt (+2500)
  • Jet Greaves (+2500)
  • Brandon Bussi +2500)

Best Bets to Win the Vezina Trophy

Logan Thompson (+750)

Connor Hellebuyck is the favorite in this market, but it may be wisest to avoid taking him until there’s some clarity regarding his pending trade request and absence from team activities. Thankfully, there’s great value elsewhere at the top of the board. Logan Thompson is a favorite pick of mine here for a couple of reasons. He’s never been a finalist before, but he was arguably deserving of a spot as one last season. He’s coming off a career-best campaign in which he won 31 games with a 2.44 GAA and a .912 SV%, logging four shutouts – those GAA and SV% marks were both fifth best among all netminders with at least 15 games played. Thompson also paced the NHL with 29.3 goals saved above expected and ranked fifth in the same stat on a per-60 basis. Goalie numbers aren’t always sticky, but he’s been at .910 or better on the SV% in each of the last five seasons and is clearly one of the best in the league at his craft. The Capitals also improved their roster with the additions of Alex Tuch, Jordan Kyrou and several other role players, so getting back into the playoffs with 30+ wins for Thompson is quite realistic.

Jacob Markstrom (+2500)

If you’re after a longshot pick, Jacob Markstrom makes for one of the most intriguing options on the board. Last season was rough for him, no doubt – he recorded a 3.07 GAA and .883 SV% that were among the worst marks of his career. He’s also 36 years old, so is it realistic to bet on a bounce-back campaign from a netminder of his age? It’s a valid question, but the circumstances are enough to raise an eyebrow. Markstrom was playing for a Devils squad that really struggled last season and didn’t have a ton of help defensively from the players in front of him. He’s also just a season removed from a 2.50 GAA and .900 SV% with New Jersey that saw him with 26 games and notch four shutouts. Now, he reunites with the team he started with and will have the Panthers’ defense to wear down opponents and cover for him on the ice. The environment is certainly better for him, but the only other knock is that he may not make quite enough starts to really rack up wins. If he can regain his prior form and Florida isn’t afraid of his body wearing down, there’s some betting value here as a Vezina candidate with longer odds. Plus, he’s already been a finalist once before.
