What happened to Justin Jefferson? Live injury updates for Vikings vs. Buccaneers on Sunday 9/27/26

UPDATE: Jefferson is headed to the locker room with athletic trainers in the second quarter of the game.

The Vikings announced that Justin Jefferson (ankle) is questionable to return to Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Tampa. It is Kyler Murray’s second attempt at a starting debut, and there were high hopes for Jefferson.

Jefferson caught Kyler Murray’s first two completed passes for 32 yards, including a 22-yard gain. Minnesota had immediately leaned on its star receiver as Murray returned to the starting lineup. Minnesota Vikings

Murray cleared concussion protocol earlier in the week after leaving the season opener against Green Bay and missing the Week 2 win over Chicago. Losing Jefferson would complicate his first game back, forcing Minnesota to redistribute opportunities among its remaining receivers.
