Titans vs. Giants Preview for NFL Week 3
Tennessee Titans
The Titans are off to an all-too-familiar start under new head coach Robert Saleh, dropping their first two games at home. However, they nearly staged an epic upset over the Eagles in Week 2 — taking a late 20–17 lead before Jalen Hurts tossed a game-winning touchdown with nine seconds on the clock.
Tennessee is hoping the valiant effort can spark a momentum shift heading into Week 3. Still, the squad is showing some serious holes on both sides of the ball early on. While the Titans got to Hurts for three sacks and two interceptions, the former Super Bowl MVP still threw for 264 passing yards and two touchdowns. The Titans currently have the NFL’s third-highest opponent QB completion rate (73.8 percent). One week earlier, they got carved up on the ground for 22 carries, 102 yards, and a score from Jets running back Breece Hall.
Meanwhile, the Titans’ offense has been unable to compensate, ranking second-to-last in total yards per game (243). Second-year quarterback Cam Ward has continued to take his lumps under center, completing 61.5 percent of his passes for 323 yards and only one touchdown. Although last year’s No. 1 pick has had a few big plays with Elic Ayomanor, he has struggled to make much happen with new additions Wan’Dale Robinson and 2026 first-rounder Carnell Tate. That said, Ward flashed his mobility with a pair of rushing touchdowns against the Eagles, adding a new layer to Tennessee’s backfield alongside veteran RB Tony Pollard.
New York Giants
Week 1 feels like a lifetime ago for John Harbaugh’s Giants. After a deeply encouraging start, they must now navigate the rest of the 2026 campaign without franchise quarterback Jaxson Dart, who will undergo left knee surgery and miss the regular season.
Dart went down early in New York’s Week 2 matchup against the Rams, completely knocking the wind out of the franchise. The squad failed to find the end zone with Jameis Winston, who completed just 40.7 percent of his passes for 111 yards and an interception. Granted, the squad was scrambling to adapt against a formidable LA defense. While Dart’s rushing threat will be sorely missed, Winston remains one of the league’s most competent backup quarterbacks. The former No. 1 pick should look far more comfortable after a week’s worth of prep as the QB1 — especially with weapons like Malik Nabers, Isaiah Likely, and Cam Skattebo at his disposal.
But can they defend? The Giants’ coverage remains a serious concern through Week 2, ranking 27th in total yards allowed per game (362.5), T-29th in opponent yards per carry (5), and T-31st in passing touchdowns (6). Many of those numbers are inflated from last week, after reigning league MVP Matthew Stafford erupted for 327 yards and four touchdowns — connecting with Davante Adams for eight catches, 195 yards, and a pair of scores. After getting battered by the Super Bowl favorites, New York will look to shore up its defense against one of the NFL’s weakest offenses.
Titans vs. Giants Pick, Best Bet for NFL Week 3
The Giants’ season outlook is night and day without Jaxson Dart, but they still have the pieces to capitalize on a favorable schedule in the coming weeks. That stretch begins with Sunday’s home matchup against the Titans. Jameis Winston is better than he looked last week; he’s also more proven and has more dangerous weapons than Cam Ward. In a battle between highly questionable defenses, the scale should tip toward Big Blue at MetLife Stadium.
