Who will be voted off on Survivor 51 next? Episode 2 Predictions

The Open Era is underway in Fiji. In the Survivor 51 premiere, Jeff Probst introduced the contestants to “permanent uncertainty” — and the game immediately lived up to the phrase. A contestant’s occupation was questioned, players turned on one another, an immunity idol was found and two Shot in the Dark attempts failed.

Amid all that “permanent uncertainty,” the tribe spoke and voted the first player out of Survivor 51 — Aaliyah.

But who will be going home next? Join me as I look into my crystal ball to see who could be the next contestant voted out of Survivor 51.

Who will be voted off on Survivor 51 next?

Jenna Doore — Toka

This is the easy one. Had Aaliyah not started throwing around Brady’s name, Jenna would likely have gone home in the season premiere. Jenna was a bit overwhelmed at the start of the game and is dealing with the aftermath of a recent divorce, so she was a bit closed off. This raised the suspicions of Devin, who began questioning whether Jenna was really a wedding photographer. This made her his target.

It seemed like it was a battle in the tribe between Devin (who wanted Jenna out) and Brady (who wanted Aaliyah out). Ultimately, the tribe sided with Brady — it was easy to blame Aaliyah for the tribe’s loss in the first immunity challenge — but that doesn’t mean Jenna is out of the woods. Devin is still coming for her, so Jenna better do something quick to take the target off her back.

Eric Macksoud — Savu

Eric said in the cast preview that he wanted to use “his counseling skills in the game by building rapport and relationships right off the bat.” But, my colleague Bryan Armetta pointed out some danger for Eric in his Episode 1 recap:

Eric is playing too hard and too fast. He’s trying to make an effort to connect with just about everyone, drawing the ire of players such as Carter and Rob.

His solo fishing trip likely did him no favors. It gave Rob an opening to campaign against him, while Eric’s meager catch — and outsized reaction to it — probably did little to ease the impression that he could get on people’s nerves.

Alexis called him sweet … but annoying, and I think it’s becoming clear he’s the odd man out in the Savu tribe. So if Savu is at tribal council next week, I would imagine it’s Eric who could get his torch snuffed out.

Lewis Kelly — Exile Island

It’s always a dicey move to go on an adventure and separate yourself from the rest of the castaways. Especially if you are doing it right off the bat before you get a chance to build any relationships. But that’s exactly what Lewis did.

Lewis volunteered to make the trip alone to the other side of the island … and no one else joined him putting their name in the hat, so off Lewis went. But at least he got a spirit tunnel.

The Irishman found himself alone with no supplies on Exile Island, but Jeff did arrive with some news. Lewis wouldn’t take part in the immunity challenge or tribal council, and thus was safe for the week. Moreover, Lewis would have the chance to win an idol. However, to do so he had to cut down a mast. And Lewis TORE UP his hands trying to chop that mast down in what was ultimately a losing effort. So no idol, no relationships.

Whenever Lewis gets off Exile Island he will be behind the 8-ball. Relationships have already been built and it will be hard for him to integrate himself with his tribe. He will also be at a physical disadvantage thanks to the toll that attempting to chop down that mast took. Plus, none of the other players know that Lewis failed. Sure, he can tell them he didn’t win the idol, but they may not believe him. And that could just serve as a reason to put a target on his back.

Needless to say, Irish eyes haven’t been smiling on Lewis thus far in Survivor 51.

Survivor 51 Episode 2 Preview

As per usual, at the conclusion of Wednesday’s episode we got a sneak peek at the next episode of Survivor 51. The castaways discover that when it rains, it pours and it appears someone suffers a potentially serious injury.
