At UFC 331, one of the best prospects in promotion history, Gable Steveson makes his return to take on Sean Sharaf in a three-round Heavyweight contest. This fight was originally scheduled for the Prelims but moved to the Main Card after Renato Moicano vs. Brian Ortega was canceled. The UFC 331 Main Card airs live on Paramount+ beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET.
Check out my best bet for Gable Steveson vs. Sean Sharaf below.
Gable Steveson To Win And Under 0.5 (+130)
Steveson, 26, made his UFC debut on July 11 at UFC 329, where he scored a first-round knockout against Elisha Ellison. In MMA, Steveson is 4-0 with four first-round knockouts in the first 12 months of his career. Before beginning his MMA career, Steveson won an Olympic Gold Medal at the 2020 Tokyo Games and is a former four-time Big Ten Champion and two-time NCAA Division I Champion. His opponent, Sharaf, is 4-2 with four knockouts and suffered a second-round knockout loss in his first two UFC fights.
The largest favorite on this card is Gable Steveson, who has odds of -2400, with Sean Sharaf being a +1200 underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook. This fight has an over/under of 1.5 rounds, with the under at -540 and the over at +360. Steveson is also -500 to win by KO/TKO/DQ.
Two of Steveson’s MMA wins have come in the first 2:30 of the first round. Steveson landed 41 significant strikes in his UFC debut and didn’t attempt a takedown. Whether this is the fight where he displays his elite ability on the ground or not, a quick finish is very possible. Steveson fights at a fast pace and doesn’t let opponents build their offense. Since Steveson is such a big favorite, I’m taking him to win and under 0.5 rounds at +130. Including his appearance at Dirty Boxing, three of his last five victories have come in 2:30 or less.
