This will be one of the craziest college football environments in recent memory. The Oxford crowd should be at maximum volume and aggression to start this game. The best thing LSU can do to quiet that crowd is to run the football effectively. Lane Kiffin won’t want to send Sam Leavitt out to chuck it all around the field when there are bound to be some nerves in that setting. Kiffin should trust in his running back, Dilin Jones, to take the crowd out of the game and keep the ball away from Trinidad Chambliss.
The Wisconsin transfer has started his LSU career strong. Jones carried it 23 times for 113 yards and two touchdowns in the season opener against Clemson. He didn’t see as much action in a blowout against Louisiana Tech last week, but still had 80 scrimmage yards. Jones should see 20+ carries in this game and produce at a high level. Ole Miss struggled to stop the run in the opener against Louisville and ranks 79th in the nation in defensive EPA/rush. Jones should get to at least 71 rushing yards in this huge rivalry game.
Trinidad Chambliss Anytime TD (+125)
Trinidad Chambliss proved himself to be one of the best quarterbacks in college football last season. He always seems to make the right play based on what the defense gives him, whether that is pushing it downfield, checking it down or using his legs. Chambliss is such a great passer that his rushing ability is a bit underrated. In the opener against Louisville, he ran the ball nine times for 60 yards and a score.
This LSU secondary is loaded with talent. Blake Baker will scheme up his talented defense to make life as hard as possible on Chambliss. The Ole Miss quarterback will need to trust his instincts to make the right plays to beat this secondary. Especially in the red zone, that will mean using his legs at the opportune times. While both teams look much different in 2026, mainly the sideline Lane Kiffin is on, Chambliss ran all over LSU last season. He carried the ball 14 times for 71 yards in that game. Chambliss should use those legs again this year and score a rushing touchdown against LSU.
