In Week 3 of the college football season, the UNC Tar Heels are on the road as they take on the Clemson Tigers their first ACC matchup of the year. Bill Belichick’s squad is 2-0 through their first two games, with Dabo Swinney’s group 1-1 as well.

UNC vs. Clemson player props
Billy Edwards 210+ passing yards (-104)
The Tar Heels are 2-0 following games against TCU and East Tennessee State. Neither of those teams are very good, with the latter hailing from the FCS, at that. Even in light of the lesser competition, Billy Edwards Jr. has looked really solid under center for the most part. The senior transfer from Wisconsin has thrown for 476 yards and two touchdowns, completing 64.6% of his 48 attempts to do so. Granted, he didn’t have to throw a ton last week in a weaker matchup that saw the game get out of hand pretty quickly, but he’s logged 210+ passing yards in both of his performances thus far. He was able to air the ball out for some bigger gains in Week 2, averaging 12.2 yards per attempt as well.
North Carolina enters this game as a 3.5-point underdog, so it’s possible the Tar Heels trail for much of the day. That would lead to an uptick in volume for Edwards, who can take advantage of a Clemson secondary that still gave up 244 passing yards against Georgia Southern of the FCS after conceding 335 passing yards to LSU in the opener. All things considered, I like UNC to attack through the air and think Edwards should each this 210-yard threshold pretty easily. It helps that Jelani Thurman is also looking like an awesome top target with eight grabs for 165 yards and a score as the Ohio State transfer develops chemistry with his quarterback.
Bryant Wesco Jr. 60+ receiving yards (-101)
He hasn’t yet looked like the elite receiving talent we know he can be, but Bryant Wesco Jr. should come online for the Tigers at some point here. He’s only recorded two grabs for 29 yards and six catches for another 25 yards over his first two games of the new season, but at some point, he’s bound to get back to his usual self. He was limited to just seven games as a sophomore last year, but still finished with 537 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 31 catches. As a freshman in 2024, he posted 41 receptions for 708 yards and five scores, and he’s only gotten better since then.
The quarterback situation is in flux after senior Christopher Vizzina suffered an injury last week, but freshman Tait Reynolds is in line to start under center. He should look in the direction of his top wideout early and often, which should bode well for Wesco’s volume in this game. The receiver averaged 76.7 yards per game last season and I think he’s more likely than not to get back to production of that caliber sooner rather than later. It’s only a matter of time for the future NFL draftee.
