Logan Gilbert, Seattle Mariners at Los Angeles Angels ($10,000) — Gilbert has been solid this season with a 3.84 FIP and 20.8 K-BB% in 172 innings. Curiously, those numbers were tainted by his performances at home, where the FIP was 4.75 and 24 of the 27 home runs were allowed. On the road, the FIP was 2.52. Not only is he on the road for this one, but he gets one of the best matchups for fantasy, as the Angels are second in strikeouts, 28th in ISO, dead-last in wOBA and 29th in wRC+.

Sean Manaea, New York Mets vs. Baltimore Orioles ($7,500) — I kind of hate this recommendation, especially since the price isn’t cheap. In addition, Manaea hasn’t been particularly good recently, allowing at least four earned runs in five straight. Over that span, he put up double-digit FPTS twice. In the six games prior to that, though, he finished with double-digit FPTS in all with two over 20 and a high of 37.4 FPTS, so I know he has it inside him. What finally got me to slot his name in here was that Baltimore strikes out at the highest rate against left-handed pitching while Manaea has a 21.6% strikeout rate in general.

Luis Garcia Jr., New York Yankees at Minnesota Twins ($4,700) — Garcia Jr. has 30 home runs, 65 runs, 91 RBI and five stolen bases in 506 plate appearances. The strikeout rate is only 17% while the average exit velocity is 91.7 mph, barrel rate is 12.6% and the bat speed is 74.3 mph. Against right-handed pitching, the wRC+ is 146 with a .288 ISO. Now he faces Bailey Ober, who has allowed a 5.23 FIP and 5.9 K-BB% against lefties.

Michael Arroyo, Seattle Mariners at Los Angeles Angels ($2,600) — When Arroyo was called up four games ago, he went 0-for-4 in the first two contests with two strikeouts. He then sat the next three, but was re-inserted into the lineup two games ago. He went 3-for-4 with a home run and a walk and then followed that up going 0-for-1 with a run and three walks. With the Mariners pretty much out of the playoff race, it’s likely Arroyo will get consistent at-bats to close out the season. In 235 Triple-A plate appearances this season, Arroyo had eight home runs and four stolen bases with an 8.1% walk rate, 16.4% strikeout rate and .188 ISO. Through 14 MLB plate appearances, the average exit velocity is 90.6 mph, launch angle is 26.3 degrees, barrel rate is 12.5% and the bat speed is 74.3 mph.
OUTFIELD

Randy Arozarena, Seattle Mariners at Los Angeles Angels ($5,600) — Arozarena has 25 home runs, 99 runs, 75 RBI and 22 stolen bases through 617 plate appearances. Against right-handed pitching, 15 home runs have been hit while wRC+ is 141 with a .178 ISO. On the road, the ISO is .230 with a 160 wRC+. Ryan Johnson has a 5.61 FIP and 8.1 K-BB% against righties this season.

Scott Bandura, San Francisco Giants at St. Louis Cardinals ($2,000) — With Rafael Devers out for the season, Bandura was recalled from Triple-A and went 1-for-3 with a run, a walk and two strikeouts while batting fifth in the order. In 604 minor league plate appearances this season, Bandura contributed 13 home runs, 104 runs, 94 RBI and 34 stolen bases. The walk rate was 12.1%, the strikeout rate was 15.1% and the ISO was .169.
