Wrapup and near misses
O So Close! (2:10 p.m. ET)
While Hubbard got the winning score with 11:33 left in the first quarter, some other players came very close to claiming the Slate Breaker title. Scores by Jonathan Taylor and Kenyon Saddiq are highlighted below, and Hubbard’s teammate Darren Waller had a touchdown called back by penalty that would have won him the title. Just before Sadiq ran in the score, Omar Cooper Jr. caught a 30-yard pass for the Jets. He went down at the four-yard line, but since that play was at 12:10, it still would have been beat by Hubbard’s score.
Parker Washington, the Bengals D/ST, Jamyr Gibbs and Bijan Robinson all scored the first touchdown of the season in their games, but all came well after Hubbard’s score on the game clock.
Stay tuned for updates on what the payout in bonus bets will be for the bettors who had their token on Hubbard.
Chuba Hubbard takes the lead (1:20 p.m. ET)
The Panthers recovered a fumble from the Bears after losing the coin flip, and they marched down the field quickly. Bryce Young actually completed a one-yard touchdown to Darren Waller at the 12:29 mark, but that was nullified by a penalty. A few plays later, Young threw a four-yard pass to Chuba Hubbard at 11:33 left in the first quarter. While Taylor and Sadiq scored earlier in the afternoon, since the winner is based on the least game time elapsed, Hubbard is in the lead! Stay tuned for the official results.
Kenyon Sadiq with a long-shot entry (1:18 p.m. ET)
Jets rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq scored a three-yard rushing score at 10:45 in the first quarter. Since less time elapsed he scored earlier than Taylor. Will that be the winner?
Jonathan Taylor Scores Early (1:17 p.m. ET)
Taylor had a one-yard touchdown run at the 10:33 mark in the first quarter. Will that be the winner?
