The first Monday Night Football matchup of the 2026-27 NFL season sees the Kansas City Chiefs host the Denver Broncos in an AFC West battle. One of the best ways to get in on the game is by playing DraftKings Pick6.
Here are my top Pick6 plays for the Week 1 Monday Night Football matchup.
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Denver Broncos DraftKings Pick6 Picks for Monday Night Football
Kenneth Walker III More Than 0.5 Rushing + Receiving Touchdowns
Kenneth Walker III has found a new home in Kansas City following his Super Bowl MVP-winning season in Seattle. He should provide some much-needed balance to a Kansas City offense that was so reliant on Patrick Mahomes last season. Walker will be especially appreciated against this Denver defense that performs at such a high level. Last season, Walker had a lot of his touchdown chances vultured by Zach Charbonnet. That won’t be the case this season, as there is no prominent backup in the Chiefs’ running back room. When they get down towards the goal line, Walker should get almost all of the touches. Andy Reid should try to make sure his new running back gets to carry one into the end zone in his first home game at Arrowhead.

Bo Nix Less Than 1.5 Passing Touchdowns
Bo Nix had a really nice 2025-26 season, leading the Broncos to an AFC West title and an AFC title game. However, Nix really struggled in his trip to Arrowhead Stadium. He threw for one touchdown and one interception in that game, averaging just 4.8 yards per attempt. He played better at home against the Chiefs, but still failed to throw a touchdown pass in that game. The Kansas City crowd should be at maximum volume for this game and make things tough for Nix and the Denver offense.
Steve Spagnuolo is very familiar with this Denver offense and should have a good game plan in place with all offseason to prepare. Nix is dangerous with his legs and loves to run once he gets near the end zone. Denver also has a trio of running backs that could all see action in this game. This should be a lower-scoring game, and Denver should be more efficient on the ground than through the air. All of that should lead to Nix finishing under this number.

Jaylen Waddle Longest Reception More Than 19.5 Yards
Jaylen Waddle was a great acquisition for the Broncos over the offseason. The only high-level receiver that Nix has had to work with during his NFL career has been Courtland Sutton. Sutton is a very solid receiver and has been a great professional, but he is on the back end of his career. Waddle provides a much more dynamic option for Bo Nix in the passing game. Sean Payton should try to scheme up some deep shots for Waddle in his first game with the Broncos.
This game should be a grind on both sides of the ball for both teams. It will be a tight, physical game, and both teams should lack explosiveness on offense. That is where Waddle comes in. Once this game gets tighter and tighter on the line of scrimmage, Sean Payton will look to take a shot or two over the top to his new weapon. Waddle averaged 14.2 yards per catch last season, the 12th-highest mark in the NFL among receivers with at least 50 catches.
