There are some great games on the slate as the NFL season kicks off. With plenty of ways to get in on the action on DraftKings Sportsbook, this is a look at my best bets for NFL Week 1.
Cowboys -3 at Giants (-105)
The Cowboys should have one of the best offenses in the NFL this season. Dak Prescott will be able to put up huge numbers getting the ball to CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens and Jake Ferguson. Javonte Williams is also a solid running back to provide balance to that offense. The Giants ranked 27th in the NFL in defensive EPA/play last season and should really struggle to slow down the Dallas offense. The Cowboys massively upgraded at defensive coordinator by hiring Christian Parker this offseason. They also added some pieces that should improve that side of the ball.
These defenses should be relatively comparable, but the Dallas offense is miles ahead of the New York offense. Dak Prescott has dominated the NFC East over the years. He is 37-10 SU and 32-15 (68.1%) ATS versus the NFC East in his career. Prescott should handle business and cover this short spread.
Steelers & Eagles Moneyline Parlay (+109)
The Falcons are in a difficult spot entering Week 1. Tua Tagovailoa has been ruled out with an oblique injury, while Michael Penix Jr. will also be inactive as he continues his recovery. Cooper Rush will start against Pittsburgh, giving the Steelers an obvious advantage at quarterback. The Steelers should have a great home crowd for the season opener as the Mike McCarthy era takes off. The Steelers should be able to play conservatively on offense and still win this game.
The Eagles are flying a bit under the radar heading into the season. They have won the NFC East three of the past four years and have made two of the last four Super Bowls. Despite that, they are in many ways the forgotten team in the NFC. The Commanders are getting a bit of a fresh start after a tough 2025 season, but this roster is still not very improved from last year. A healthy Jayden Daniels should make them more competitive, but the Eagles have the much better roster top-to-bottom. Philadelphia should get the win at home.
Six-Point Teaser: Jets +7.5 & Jaguars -2.5
The Jets and Titans were two of the worst teams in the NFL last season. However, when grading their offseasons, the Jets seemingly did more to improve their roster. They did a great job in the draft, securing David Bailey, Omar Cooper Jr. and Kenyon Sadiq. The Jets also added some veteran pieces on defense, like Demario Davis and Minkah Fitzpatrick.
Most importantly, they added Geno Smith at quarterback. Smith was awful in Las Vegas last season after his successful run in Seattle. However, that Raiders team had an awful offensive line and a bad group of skill position players. Smith will have a solid offensive line and real weapons to work with in New York. He should be a massive improvement on what was a bottom-two quarterback situation in the NFL last season. The Jets are my pick to win that game against the Titans, so teasing them up over a touchdown seems like a very safe move.
The Jaguars should roll against the Browns in this game. The Cleveland defense has been significantly worse on the road than at home over the last couple of seasons. It is also a mystery how big of an impact the loss of Myles Garrett will have. Not only are they missing the single-season sack record holder, but the impact could be even larger because of how much attention opposing offenses had to give to Garrett. The Browns still have an absolutely disastrous quarterback situation and should struggle offensively again this season. The Jaguars should win this one with relative ease.
