Week 1 is finally here, and the NFL’s best playmakers are ready to make an immediate impact. From high-volume stars in favorable matchups to long shot options with a path to a featured red-zone role, here are the top 2026 Week 1 anytime TD scorer picks.
Week 1 NFL Anytime TD Scorer Picks
Tony Pollard (+150) vs. Jets
Pollard was one of my starts of the week in fantasy, so it should come as no surprise that I expect him to find the end zone. The veteran back isn’t exactly a scoring machine, but he’s incredibly reliable. Pollard will enter the 2026 NFL season as Tennessee’s clear lead back once again, projecting to earn 270-plus carries for the fourth straight year. He draws an immensely favorable matchup in Week 1 against a porous Jets defense. New York surrendered the sixth-most rushing touchdowns in 2025, averaging more than one allowed per contest. The Titans may not find themselves in many favorable matchups in 2026, but this is one of them, and Pollard should take advantage of it.
Amon-Ra St. Brown (+100) vs. Saints
The TD machine checks in at even money to earn that title again in Detroit’s season opener. Despite lacking elite size or speed, St. Brown has earned his spot among the NFL’s elite receivers. Jared Goff’s No. 1 option has a knack for finding the end zone, amassing double-digit scores in three straight campaigns. Davante Adams was the league’s touchdown leader in 2025, but St. Brown saw exactly as many red zone targets (32), hauling in eight more than the Rams’ star wideout. When the Lions get near the goal line, they look to Amon-Ra, and that should remain the case against New Orleans.
David Montgomery (-115) vs. Bills
I, for one, am so thrilled that a team saw the bell cow capabilities that David Montgomery still has in his locker. The 29-year-old has spent the last few seasons splitting touches with Jahmyr Gibbs, so he should be relatively fresh heading into his first campaign as a Texan. Last year, Houston missed the hard-running skillset that Montgomery brings to the table, and they’re certain to utilize him correctly (and frequently) this season. The Bills were quietly one of the NFL’s worst run defenses in 2025, surrendering the third-most rushing touchdowns. The Texans will try to take advantage of that weakness in their season opener, setting the stage for a strong debut for Montgomery.
