The NFL season is officially underway. After the Super Bowl rematch to open the season on Wednesday night, there is a great NFC West battle between the Rams and 49ers, taking place on the other side of the world, on Thursday Night Football.

Davante Adams More Than 52.5 Receiving Yards
Davante Adams is headed into Year 13 in the NFL. He doesn’t produce at the incredibly high level that he did in the prime of his career, but is still performing for the Rams. Adams is a major beneficiary of the amount of attention opposing defenses have to give to Puka Nacua. Being a WR2 allows him to get single coverage or a matchup against the weaker cornerback.
That was evident in last season’s matchups against the 49ers. In the first matchup against San Francisco, Adams led the Rams with 88 receiving yards. He led the team in receiving yards again in the second matchup, going for 77 yards and a touchdown. He comfortably cleared this mark in both of those matchups. The 49ers’ defense has some injuries and question marks coming into the season, and this electric Rams offense should perform well.
Christian McCaffrey More Than 0.5 Rushing + Receiving TDs
Christian McCaffrey is fully healthy coming into this season. He should get back to his best in 2026 and could be one of the best running backs in the league again. McCaffrey flew under the radar a bit last season, but he ended up finishing the season second in the NFL in scrimmage yards. McCaffrey also scored 17 total touchdowns last season. He was not only the 49ers’ leading rusher last season, but also their leading receiver. The Rams struggled to stop him in the passing game last season. In their first matchup of the 2025 season, McCaffrey had eight catches for 82 yards and a touchdown. With the looming pass rush of Myles Garrett, Brock Purdy should try to get the ball out quickly to McCaffrey and give him plenty of touches. McCaffrey should find the end zone in this game.
Game High Rushing Yards: Kyren Williams
Kyren Williams is my pick to lead this game in rushing. Williams has been one of the most underrated running backs in the NFL over the past few years. Last season, he finished sixth in the NFL in rushing yards. The Rams’ passing game gets all the headlines, but Williams plays a crucial role on the ground to keep this offense going. Williams was the leading rusher in both games against the 49ers last season, rushing for 65 yards and 73 yards in the two matchups. As mentioned in the McCaffrey write-up, the 49ers will use him a bunch through the air in this game, but they might not run the ball as much. The Rams are favorites in this game, and if they hold a second-half lead, that should also lead to more carries for Williams than McCaffrey.
