A 15-game, 30-team MLB slate is on tap for Wednesday. For those looking to cash in quickly on a bet, nothing makes more sense than an NRFI. With that being said, there’s more to this one than meets the eye. Some pitchers thrive early, while others take more time to get settled in than others. Which NRFI picks are worth a closer look on Wednesday?
Ahead of today’s Major League Baseball contests, here are two NRFI bets worth placing on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Best NRFI Prop Bets Today
| Game | Pitching Matchup |
| Guardians vs. Orioles NRFI (-110) | Griffin vs. Baz |
| Mets vs. Marlins NRFI (+100) | Stock vs. Junk |
Guardians vs. Orioles NRFI (-110)
Foster Griffin was the biggest acquisition of the summer for Cleveland. So far, so good for the first-time All Star. He’s allowed three earned runs or fewer in each of his previous five outings. As a result, the righty is sporting a solid 4.06 ERA with his new club. The 30-year-old has been terrific in the first inning as well, posting an 82% NRFI rate. There’s a good chance Griffin continues his success tonight at Camden Yards. The Orioles aren’t a bad offense by any means, but they usually start off slow. Baltimore has an MLB-worst 21.62% YRFI rate when playing at home. That doesn’t bode well for this group’s chances on Wednesday against an above-average arm.
As for the O’s, Shane Baz will take the hill this evening. Despite a lackluster 5-15 win-loss record, the fifth-year pro might be Baltimore’s top starter. Through 163.1 innings pitched, he’s accounted for a 3.91 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 145 strikeouts (8.8 K/9). To boot, he’s delivered an even better 3.63 ERA at home. Baz has allowed a first inning run only twice over his last ten contests. Now, he’ll get to face a Guardians lineup averaging the league’s fourth-fewest runs per game (4.06). Cleveland also has a 23.94% YRFI rate on the road, tied for eighth-worst in the sport.
Mets vs. Marlins NRFI (+100)
Robert Stock isn’t a household name, and for good reason. He’s on the hook for a sky-high 5.81 ERA; not exactly someone bettors will be eager to back. However, don’t let those numbers fool you. Stock’s statistics are largely the result of two disastrous outings this season. He’s allowed one run or fewer in his other four starts. In addition, he comes into Wednesday’s matchup on a four-game NRFI streak. The Marlins aren’t the most intimidating group at the plate, especially in the first inning. Their 28.08% YRFI rate is only good enough for 19th in the majors.
Miami will hand the ball to an underrated arm in Janson Junk. Over 108.0 innings, he’s notched a respectable 4.00 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 74 strikeouts (6.2 K/9). Like most Marlins pitchers, the 30-year-old is much better at home (3.48 ERA) than he is on the road (4.78 ERA). He comes into Wednesday on an 11-game NRFI streak as well. When Junk faced the Mets earlier this season he allowed one unearned run over five innings. New York is only averaging 4.27 runs per game, ninth-fewest in baseball. A low scoring start feels likelier than not in this one.
