The fifth week of Dana White’s Contender Series begins with a three-round Flyweight contest as Colton Loud takes on Christian Natividad. Natividad, 29, enters this contest with an undefeated record of 9-0 with three knockouts, while Loud is 7-1 with seven finishes.

Natividad calls Fight Ready MMA, a gym in Scottsdale, Arizona, home. One of Fight Ready’s main coaches is Eric Albarracin, who coached former two-division UFC Champion Henry Cejudo. Aoriqileng, Eryk Anders, Amir Albazi, and The Korean Zombie are among the other notable fighters from this gym.
Although Loud has one loss in his career, he is an exciting fighter who always looks for a finish. Six of Loud’s seven victories have come in the first round, with his latest one only taking 22 seconds in March. Early on in his MMA career, Loud displayed his power more often. But with two back-to-back submissions, Loud showed that he is dangerous anywhere the fight takes place.
Loud is the bigger fighter in this bout: he is taller (5’8″ vs. 5’4″) and has a standing reach advantage (71″ vs. 67″). In this fight, Natividad is a -305 favorite, as Loud is the underdog at +245 on DraftKings Sportsbook. With Loud’s physical advantage and aggressive style, he could have a better chance of winning than the odds suggest.
Even though six of Loud’s seven MMA fights have ended in the first round, Natividad has the skills and experience to slow him down. Six of Natividad’s previous seven fights have gone past the first round. With that said, my favorite play in this bout is taking over 1.5 rounds at -180.
