They won all eight of their League Phase matches and did not suffer a defeat in the competition until they lost a penalty shootout against PSG in the final. I think they will start this new campaign with a win, this time against Napoli. The Gunners have started the new Premier League season in perfect fashion, winning all three of their matches thus far. That includes two tough matches, away to Aston Villa and at home to Chelsea.
Napoli on the other hand, have had a rough start to the new campaign. They have lost two of their first three games and sit 12th in Serie A. Napoli won their opening game of the season but followed that up with back-to-back losses against Como and Inter Milan. They had a disastrous campaign in the League Phase a season ago, finishing 30th while the Gunners finished first. Napoli only won two of their eight League Phase matches, drawing two and losing four times with a -6 goal difference.
One of these teams is in form and top of the league after a nearly flawless UCL campaign a season ago while the other didn’t even make the Round of 32 last year and have started the new season losing two out of three games. Despite this game being played in Italy, Arsenal are the better team and will get the win on Wednesday.
