UPDATE: The latest update from the broadcast reports that officials are now targeting 9 p.m. ET for players to return to the field with kickoff set for 9:15. Some electronics won’t be available, including coach-to-helmet communications systems, sideline iPads, and the stadium PA.

UPDATE: Per the ESPN broadcast, officials including the ACC Commissioner as well as both schools’ presidents and athletic directors have just met to discuss options. Officials are now targeting a 9 p.m. ET kickoff. However, there is a chance a full restoration of power may not be possible tonight, in which case the game will be postponed.

Week 1 of the college football season concludes with a matchup between the SMU Mustangs and Florida State Seminoles on Monday night, capping off Labor Day weekend. However, the game is in a delay that has pushed the anticipated kickoff time back.

A power outage at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida has delayed the start of tonight’s game, which was originally set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Per the ESPN broadcast, a transformer blew that left parts of the stadium without power. An updated time for kickoff is uncertain, but expected to come shortly.

Both teams have brought their players back to the locker room for the time being while the power outage is fixed. There will be a 10-minute warm-up period once players come back out.

SMU is a three-point favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total listed at 54.5 combined points. The Mustangs are listed at -155 on the Moneyline with the FSU Seminoles at +130 odds to win outright.
