Washington State vs. Washington player props
Demond Williams 300+ combined pass + rush yards (-108)
The Huskies’ offense was quite explosive last season, averaging 34.1 PPG with 410 yards per game and 6.4 yards per play. Washington averaged 245.0 passing yards per game with 8.6 yards per attempt, the latter of which ranked 16th in the nation. Demond Williams was the starter for the full campaign and tallied 3.065 yards with 25 touchdowns and eight picks on an efficient 69.5% completion rate; some impressive production from the then-sophomore. Moreover, he ran for an additional 611 yards and six scores, so he’s a true dual-threat presence.
Yes, the Huskies lost wideout Denzel Boston to the NFL, but they return four starters on the offensive line and a ton of talent in the wideout group. Williams is positioned quite nicely for another big year, especially with Dezmen Roebuck back after hauling in 42 catches for 560 yards with a handful of four-star talents also in the mix moving forward.
Last year, Washington State gave up just 216.9 passing yards per game and flirted with top-50 production in that regard while ranking 15th in opponent yards per pass at 6.2. That’s not much reason to worry, though. Practically the entire secondary are transfers and may need some time to gel as a unit. This is a tough first matchup for them as Washington is a -23.5 favorite heading into this game, so the Huskies are pretty heavily favored here at home for good reason. Watch for Williams to work as a passer while making plays with his legs to get over this 300-yard mark both on the ground and through the air.
Dezmen Roebuck 60+ receiving yards (+111)
If we’re taking Williams to have a big outing, especially through the air, it only makes sense that we pair that with a nice game for his top wideout. We mentioned Dezmen Roebuck earlier, who’s back for another season in purple and gold. Last year, he finished second on the team in receiving with 42 catches for 560 yards and seven touchdowns. As the most proven producer remaining on this roster, he should see plenty of responsibility as the No. 1 receiver here in Seattle.
Roebuck tallied 60+ receiving yards in just four of his 12 games last year, but he was also working as the second option behind a second-round NFL wideout. He caught at least four passes in six games and should see a bump in target share, and after averaging 13.3 yards per catch, he’s able to stretch the field some. I anticipate that he’ll catch at least six balls in this game given the existing chemistry between he and his quarterback, in which case 60+ yards shouldn’t be too much trouble to clear.
