The US Open third round continues on Saturday. There are some great matches as the field dwindles down to the final 16 men and women in New York.
Here are my best bets for Saturday of the third round at the 2026 US Open.

Learner Tien ML (-125) vs. Jakub Mensik
This has been a great tournament for the American men. Frances Tiafoe, Tommy Paul, Ben Shelton and Alex Michelsen are all already into the Round of 16. Taylor Fritz and Learner Tien have a chance to join them today. Learner Tien is a rising star at just 20 years old. He won last year’s Next Gen ATP Finals and has established himself as a consistent competitor in 2026. He made the Australian Open quarterfinals earlier this year and won his second career ATP title.
Jakub Mensik is also a rising young player, making a name for himself at 21 years old. Mensik won the mixed doubles event at the 2026 US Open and made the semifinals at Roland-Garros earlier this summer. This should be a great battle between Mensik and Tien, two of the bright young stars in men’s tennis.
The last time these two players faced off was at the 2024 Next Gen ATP Finals. Tien beat Mensik in a five-set thriller in the Group Stage, eventually going on to the final, where he lost to Joao Fonseca. Learner Tien should beat Mensik again in this rematch. Tien will have the American crowd at his back and will have the confidence of knowing that he got the better of Mensik in their only previous matchup.
Iva Jovic ML (-131) vs. Alexandra Eala
There is also an exciting match between two young stars on the women’s side. Alexandra Eala has taken the tennis world by storm this summer. The 21-year-old made the fourth round at Wimbledon and won her first career WTA 500 title in Washington, D.C. in July. She has moved up to No. 18 in the WTA rankings, and her big personality is turning her into a superstar. However, she is deservedly an underdog in this match against the American Iva Jovic.
Iva Jovic might not be getting the media coverage that Alexandra Eala is, but she is arguably an even brighter prospect. Jovic has risen to No. 14 in the WTA rankings at just 18 years old. She already has a WTA 500 title under her belt and made the quarterfinals at the Australian Open earlier this year. Jovic is now favored to get to the Round of 16 in front of her home crowd at the US Open.
These two players have faced off twice in the past, with both matches coming this year. Jovic dominated both matches against Eala. The first match came at Roland-Garros, where Jovic beat Eala 6-4, 6-2. They faced off again at The Queen’s Club Championships later in the summer, where Jovic beat Eala 6-2, 6-2. Iva Jovic should make it three wins in three matches against Alexandra Eala this summer and move on to the Round of 16.
