During his final at-bat in Wednesday night’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals, Shohei Ohtani was shaking his arm. He has been dealing with a right biceps issue for a few months and has also been experiencing throbbing in his left knee. As a result, Dave Roberts has elected to give Ohtani the night off on Thursday. An extended IL stint hasn’t been ruled out yet, but it seems unlikely.
Alex Call will get the nod at designated hitter on Thursday and bat eighth in the order. Tommy Edman will man Ohtani’s usual spot at leadoff.
