On Wednesday, Major League Baseball has a split schedule with six games on the daytime slate and six games on the main DFS slate that begins at 7:40 p.m. ET. Three games start right at 7:40 p.m. ET with three more later in the evening. With a dozen teams on the board, the player pool features a solid mix of matchups to consider as you assemble your lineup. Let’s dive in and examine some of my top MLB DFS picks for Wednesday night’s slate.
Overall, the weather looks to be dry, and the wind will be mostly blowing out. Target Field is the only real exception, although Wrigley Field and Kauffman Stadium have some of the stronger boosts for bats. Even without any rain concerns, it’s always important to double-check lineups and forecasts before locking in your final roster.

PITCHER
Stud
Cam Schlittler, New York Yankees at Los Angeles Angels, $11,000 — Schlittler dominated the Red Sox at Yankee Stadium last Friday in his most recent start. He racked up 28.6 FPTS in that outing and has posted over 25 FPTS in four of his last seven starts, while averaging 24.8 FPTS over that span. Schlittler has allowed one run or fewer in six of his last seven starts, working to a 1.77 ERA and 2.38 FIP with 56 strikeouts in 40 2/3 innings.
Schlittler has been especially strong all season on the road, averaging 26.9 FPTS per road start. He will be in a much more favorable spot on the road against the Angels than Jacob Misiorowski ($12,000), who is at Wrigley against the Cubs. The Angels have the second-highest K% in the MLB this season, while scoring the fifth-fewest runs and posting the third-lowest ISO. Schlittler hasn’t faced them this year, but the 25-year-old righty has been dominant enough to count on another strong outing in this road matchup in Anaheim.

Noah Cameron, Kansas City Royals vs. Miami Marlins, $7,200 — Cameron started his first full season in the majors slowly, but he has turned things around in his last six starts. The 27-year-old lefty is 4-0 over those six games, with only 39 strikeouts in 48 2/3 innings but an average of 24.7 FPTS per start. He had three starts during that span with over 30 FPTS, including an impressive 44.0 FPTS in a start in mid-August against the Angels.
Cameron should be in a favorable spot against the Marlins, who lean heavily on lefties in their lineup and rank in the bottom six in the MLB in batting average and wRC+ against southpaws. With that favorable matchup and plenty of momentum, Cameron is a great value option in today’s MLB DFS picks on the mound if you want to go with at least one cheaper starter to give you the bats you think are poised to go off.
INFIELD
Stud
C William Contreras, Milwaukee Brewers at Chicago Cubs, $4,200 — Contreras is still fairly affordable to slot into your lineup at a tricky catcher spot, and he brings lots of upside in his matchup at Wrigley Field against lefty David Peterson ($6,600). Contreras had a pair of doubles and 16 FPTS on Tuesday in the Brew Crew’s loss.
Over his last 14 games, Contreras has averaged 11.4 FPTS per contest by hitting .411 with seven doubles, two homers, and a .466 wOBA. He has a 49% hard-hit rate and 9.8% barrel rate over that span, which are also improvements on his season averages. He is only 2-for-11 in his career against Peterson, but he has hit .281 with a .334 wOBA and 42.5% hard-hit rate against lefties this season, putting him on the strong side of his splits in what should be a hitter-friendly environment on Wednesday night.

3B Amed Rosario, New York Yankees at Los Angeles Angels, $2,900 — Rosario has been hitting in the middle of the Yankees order against lefties, and he should be a cheap way to get a bat in a premium lineup spot against lefty Reid Detmers ($7,800). Rosario has been a streaky contributor throughout his career and picked up multiple hits in each of his last three games, earning 15, 12 and six FPTS in those three games.
Rosario is 7-for-16 (.438) against Detmers in their past meetings, with a pair of doubles. At under $3,000, he has good upside and potential in today’s MLB DFS picks based on that history and his current form coming into Wednesday night’s contest.
OUTFIELD
Stud
Jackson Chourio, Milwaukee Brewers at Chicago Cubs, $5,500 — Chourio can be part of a nice mini-stack with Contreras against Peterson, since they’re some of the team’s primary righty bats. Chourio has also been heating up lately, hitting .350 over his last 14 games, going 21-for-60 with three doubles, three homers and four stolen bases. Over that span, he has averaged 11.4 FPTS per contest.
On Tuesday, Chourio had two hits and his 15th stolen base of the year. He already has 20 homers and has an outside shot at a 20/20 season if he stays aggressive on the bases over the next month. The 22-year-old righty is 3-for-8 with a home run against Peterson in their past meetings, and he’s hitting .298 with a .369 wOBA against lefties, putting him on the strong side of his splits for this matchup as well.

Bryan Torres, St. Louis Cardinals at Los Angeles Dodgers, $2,700 — Torres was getting squeezed for playing time by the arrival of Joshua Baez ($4,200), but he could get more playing time while J.J. Wetherholt (wrist) is on the IL. Torres started and hit leadoff in place of Wetherholt on Sunday against the Pirates, going 2-for-2 with 12 FPTS. He also had three hits, a stolen base and 16 FPTS in his previous start, showing he has nice upside when he gets the chance to play.
With the Cards taking on righty Yoshinobu Yamamoto ($10,500) in a tough matchup Wednesday night, Torres could start either at 2B or in the OF and could slot back in at the top of the lineup. If he does, he’ll be in a premium production spot at a bargain salary. Jose Fermin ($3,400) hit leadoff on Monday against a lefty, and he had 12 FPTS from that spot. Whichever option hits leadoff should be a good source of value, but Torres is my preferred option in today’s MLB DFS picks since he saves so much salary from under $3,000.
