A 15-game, 30-team MLB slate is on tap for Wednesday. For those looking to cash in quickly on a bet, nothing makes more sense than an NRFI. With that being said, there’s more to this one than meets the eye. Some pitchers thrive early, while others take more time to get settled in than others. Which NRFI picks are worth a closer look on Wednesday?

Marlins vs. Royals NRFI (-120)
Miami isn’t quite a contender, but the team remains alive in its push for the National League’s final wild card spot. Eury Perez has been arguably the most important player on the roster during the second half. After a shaky first few months, the righty has looked the part of an ace throughout the summer. During his last ten starts, Perez has notched a 2.48 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 61 strikeouts (9.5 K/9). Even more important, the Dominican enters tonight’s contest on a ten-game NRFI streak. In comparison, the Royals are averaging the tenth-fewest runs per game (4.27) in baseball.
Kansas City will counter with a red-hot arm of its own in Noah Cameron. The southpaw has been virtually unhittable in recent weeks, looking the part of a future All-Star. Over his last eight appearances, the 27-year-old has recorded a 2.35 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 40 strikeouts (6.7 K/9). Much like Perez, Cameron has been dominant in the first inning; he’s allowed a first inning run once over his previous ten starts. Miami’s offense has a 22.86% YRFI rate on the road, sixth-worst in the majors. The Marlins have scored 60 runs over their last 15 contests, tied for seventh-worst in the league during that stretch.
Brewers vs. Cubs NRFI (-135)
Jacob Misiorowski will be the man on the mound this evening for Milwaukee. He’s been terrific this season, emerging as the clear-cut NL Cy Young frontrunner. Through 151.0 innings pitched, the right-hander has notched a 1.73 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 222 strikeouts (13.2 K/9). Those video game numbers alone make him almost impossible to fade in this spot, regardless of the opponent. Chicago’s offense is no joke, leading the majors in several categories. However, this group can struggle at times to get going. The Cubs come into tonight’s matchup with a 22.34% YRFI rate, tied for seventh-lowest in baseball.
As for the North Siders, David Peterson will be toeing the slab on Wednesday. The former All-Star has been effective since joining the club back in June. During 55.1 innings pitched with Chicago, he’s delivered a 3.90 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 46 strikeouts (7.5 K/9). This Brewers offense, while dangerous, is similar to the Cubs in that they often take some time to get rolling. That’s especially true when playing outside of the confines of American Family Field. Milwaukee’s 19.12% YRFI rate on the road is second-worst in all of baseball. When Peterson last faced the Brewers, he allowed just two earned runs over 5.2 innings pitched.
