Gerrit Cole, New York Yankees at Los Angeles Angels ($9,500) — I’m not crazy about the matchup for Jesus Luzardo and I love who Cole gets to face. Plus, he’s $1,000 cheaper and pretty, pretty good in his own right. Through 98.2 innings, Cole is posting a 3.37 FIP with a 20.9% K-BB%. The Angels are second in strikeouts, 28th in ISO, dead-last in wOBA and 28th in wRC+. Cole has put up double-digit FPTS in 10 straight with seven of those over 20 and a high of 30.2 FPTS.

Connor Prielipp, Minnesota Twins vs. Detroit Tigers ($6,700) — Prielipp is a hard-throwing lefty wo averages 95.6 mph on the fastball. Through 99 innings, the FIP is 3.98 with a 24.7% strikeout rate. The walk rate, though, is high at 9.1%. Against left-handed pitching, Detroit is 14th in strikeouts, 18th in ISO, 22nd in wOBA and 18th in wRC+. In addition, Prielipp has been better at home, posting a 3.82 FIP while the K-BB% is 5.7 percentage points higher than on the road. Now, Prielipp has given up at least three earned runs in each of the last five starts, including two games with six and eight earned runs. That said, he’s relatively cheap and one of the better options below $7,000.

Munetaka Murakami, Chicago White Sox at Houston Astros ($5,300) — Sure, Murakami is striking out 33.7% of the time. Whoop dee doo, because he has 29 home runs in 442 plate appearances. The average exit velocity is 93.9 mph with a 19.6% barrel rate and 74.8 mph bat speed. Against right-handed pitching, 23 of the 29 home runs have been hit while the wRC+ is 151 with a .316 ISO! Now he gets to face Mike Burrows, who has allowed a .319/.395/.574 slash and 14 home runs to lefties. The FIP is 6.74 while the K-BB% is only 4.5%.

Thomas Saggese, St. Louis Cardinals at Los Angeles Dodgers ($2,300) — Saggese did not play since June, but was inserted into the starting lineup on Sunday due to the JJ Wetherholt injury. He will likely be on the short side of a platoon until Wetherholt returns, but Eric Lauer, a lefty, is scheduled to start on Tuesday. Against righties, Lauer has a 5.67 FIP and 7.3 K-BB%.

Jac Caglianone, Kansas City Royals vs. Miami Marlins ($5,100) — Tyler Phillips gets the nod for Miami and has allowed an average exit velocity of 90 mph. Against lefties, the FIP is 4.6 with a 7.5 K-BB%. On the road, the FIP is 5.65 while the K-BB% plummets to 3.8%. Caglianone has a 93.2 mph average exit velocity, 14.2% barrel rate and 77.2 mph bat speed. Against right-handed pitching, 16 of the 23 home runs have been hit while the slash is .294/.354/.518 with a 140 wRC+ and .223 ISO.

Kyle Isbel, Kansas City Royals vs. Miami Marllins ($2,700) — Yup, stacking against Phillips. Isbel doesn’t have massive power and bats at the bottom of the order. He does have a little speed and sprinkle of pop, though, with six home runs and six stolen bases in 259 plate appearances this season. Against right-handed pitching, five of the six home runs have been hit while the slash is .263/.318/.400. The wRC+ is 99.
