NC State vs. Virginia player props
Jekail Middlebrook 70+ rushing yards (-114)
One of the key pieces of Middle Tennessee State’s offense last season, halfback Jekail Middlebrook comes to UVA with high expectations. Last year, he carried the ball 140 times for 752 yards and four touchdowns – an average of 68.36 rushing yards per game. While the level of competition in the ACC is stiffer than what he’s faced in the past, this is a player who should see a major role for the Cavaliers as a focal point of the attack. Virginia was 40th in rush attempts per game last year with 38.1 per contest, so one should expect Middlebrook to get plenty of volume for Tony Elliott’s squad. He racked up 70 or more yards on the ground in five of his 11 appearances last year, falling just short with 67 and 68 yards in two more outings.
For what it’s worth, Virginia tallied 257 rushing yards against NC State in a loss last year, and now, the Cavaliers are also a four-point favorite today at home. Watch for them to feed Middlebrook the ball today, allowing him to get to this rushing line of 70+ yards.
CJ Bailey 240+ passing yards (+106)
Continuity at quarterback means a lot for any program from year to year. CJ Bailey is back under center for NC State in 2026 after seeing significant work over the last two seasons. Last year, he finished 31st int he nation with 3,105 passing yards and was 12th in QBR, throwing 25 touchdowns with nine interceptions. That was very solid production, and now the junior is positioned to step his game up a little bit more for the Wolfpack.
The signal-called averages 240.3 passing yards per game last season, throwing for at least 240 in five of his 13 appearances. The hit rate there may not look spectacular, but I like his odds of getting to that mark here today. With the Wolfpack an underdog on the spread heading into this one and Virginia possibly running the ball a little more than usual to protect a lead – at least according to how I see this game playing out – Bailey may have to air it out some. Whether his receivers live up to their potential is tough to tell since there was some turnover at the position group, but Victor Snow was really good last season and does bring a higher-upside option as they work to develop chemistry.
