WNBA Best Bets Today: Top Prop Bets for Thursday, August 27

Looking for the best WNBA player props today? For Thursday, August 27, my favorite DraftKings Sportsbook picks are Sabrina Ionescu U 1.5 Made Three-Pointers (+146), Jonquel Jones U 2.5 Assists (-113) and Shakira Austin O 9.5 Rebounds (-135)

Below, I break down why each prop stands out based on projected role, matchup and recent performance.

Top WNBA Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Sabrina Ionescu U 1.5 Made Three-Pointers (+146)

Ionescu has had major issues as an outside shooter recently, failing to hit multiple treys in five of her last six. The guard is shooting a putrid 17.1% on three-pointers during this span and with the Valkyries in town tonight, Ionescu’s struggles from deep should continue.

Golden State is on the second leg of a back-to-back, but the Valkyries are the top-rated defense in the WNBA and they rank dead last in pace this season. Golden State is surrendering the third-fewest made three-pointers per game (7.9) and while Ionescu went 2-of-6 from deep in her lone matchup with the Valkyries, this came back in late June, when she was shooting it much better from outside, with this being the first of nine straight games with multiple made treys.

Two months later, things have changed dramatically for Ionescu and backing her for under 1.5 made treys tonight has a ton of merit at this +146 price.

Jonquel Jones U 2.5 Assists (-113)

Continuing with the Liberty facing the Valkyries, Jones is a strong bet for under 2.5 assists. The veteran is averaging 2.8 assists per game this season and she has slowed down as a playmaker recently, falling short of 2.5 assists in all but one of her last six. Jones only dished out one assist vs. the Fever in her last start, and she has finished with three and two assists in her two matchups vs. the Valkyries this season.

With Golden State ranking first in defensive rating and dead last in pace, the club is yielding the fewest assists per game in the league (18.2) and Jones shouldn’t do much as a facilitator in this matchup.

Shakira Austin O 9.5 Rebounds (-135)

Austin is having a career-best season on the glass, averaging 9.5 rebounds per game, which ranks fourth in the league. Since the All-Star break, the center has grabbed double-digit boards in 7-of-12 games. Austin is facing the Mercury for the second straight game tonight and she finished with just six rebounds in the first leg of this mini-series.

That being said, Austin tallied 11 rebounds in her first matchup of the season with Phoenix just a few weeks ago on Aug. 9 and she should bounce back with a similar outing tonight in this plus matchup. This season, the Mercury are giving up the sixth-most rebounds per game (34.1).
