This is the second year of the new mixed doubles format at the US Open. Last season, Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori took the crown. Some exciting pairs are looking to claim the crown this year, including the return of the great Serena Williams, who is paired with Carlos Alcaraz.
Here are my predictions for the final day of mixed doubles at the US Open.
Elina Svitolina & Gael Monfils vs. Belinda Bencic and Flavio Cobolli Preview
It has been great to see the married couple of Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils in this competition. The two great players have obvious chemistry off the court, but have proven to work great together on the court as well. This is the final couple of months of Gael Monfils’ career, as he will be retiring at the end of the 2026 season. It would be incredible if Monfils could end his career by winning this trophy alongside his wife.
While Monfils’ career is coming to a close, Elina Svitolina is playing some of the best tennis of her life in 2026. She made the semi-finals at the Australian Open, Indian Wells and the Canadian Open. Svitolina also made the final in Dubai and won the Italian Open. That was her first WTA 1000 title since 2018. She should keep her great form going here in New York.
While Belinda Bencic and Flavio Cobolli have played great in this mixed doubles event, I’m backing the married couple to keep the vibes going.
Best Bet: Svitolina/Monfils ML (+115)
Karolina Muchova & Jakub Mensik vs. Mirra Andreeva & Andrey Rublev Preview
This is a battle of the two Czechs against the two Russians. Muchova and Mensik have looked incredible as a team in this tournament, dominating the American duo of Tommy Paul and Emma Navarro in the quarter-finals. At 6-foot-5, Jakub Mensik was made for doubles. The 20-year-old has not played much doubles at the professional level, but he has proved in this tournament that he is more than capable. Karolina Muchova just made the Wimbledon final and has carried her strong play over to this event as well.
That being said, I’m backing Andreeva and Rublev to get the win. Mirra Andreeva is having an incredible year, highlighted by winning her first career major title at Roland-Garros. Andreeva also has a great track record in doubles. She won the silver medal in women’s doubles at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She has also won two WTA 1000 events and is a two-time major semi-finalist in women’s doubles.
Meanwhile, Andrey Rublev won the gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in mixed doubles. He also still plays doubles on the ATP Tour alongside Karen Khachanov. The two have been doubles partners for nearly a decade. The duo of Andreeva and Rublev are proven doubles winners and should keep it rolling here.

Potential Final: Elina Svitolina & Gael Monfils vs. Mirra Andreeva & Andrey Rublev
The married partners will undoubtedly be the fan favorites if this ends up being the mixed doubles final matchup. However, the crowd might not get what they want. Andreeva and Rublev are machines out there, and both have a lot of recent doubles experience. They are my picks to win the 2026 US Open mixed doubles crown.
