Ja’Marr Chase Injury Update: Tuesday 8/25/26

The NFL regular season starts in just a couple of weeks, but as practices continue across the league during the preseason schedule, there’s plenty of news to monitor. Just in from Cincinnati, there may be a superstar dealing with a possible injury.

Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase went down awkwardly on a route during practice on Tuesday and was seen hobbling off the field under his own power before grabbing at his knee. Granted, he did seem to walk much more smoothly several minutes later as he headed back to the sidelines.

Several minutes after the initial report, Chase was seen standing on the sideline with his pads off, flexing his left leg. The trainers were no longer looking at him, which is an encouraging sign.

There’s no confirmed news on the superstar wideout’s status as of yet. However, it’s fair to assume the Bengals will treat Chase with caution for the remainder of the day to protect his health. If he does not return to practice, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him undergo some precautionary imaging on his knee.

Back in March, Chase inked a new four-year, $161 million contract to remain with Cincinnati. He’s coming off a season of 125 receptions for 1,412 yards and eight touchdowns, even despite dealing with inconsistent quarterback play in the absence of Joe Burrow during the 2025-26 campaign.

As a foundational of the Bengals’ offense and a clear top player at his position across the NFL, Chase’s injury status is one to keep an eye on. He’s going in the early first round of fantasy football drafts, so fans across the league are surely invested in whether he’ll miss any time or if today’s injury was just a scare.
