Kiki Rice O 14.5 Points (-122)
This line is just too low for the type of role Rice should see Sunday. The Tempo are going to be very understaffed with Marina Marbey (adductor), Brittney Sykes (foot), Nyara Sabally (calf), Aneesah Morrow (knee) and Maria Conde (calf) all ruled out. All of these players besides Sykes and Morrow were inactive vs. the Fire on Friday, and Rice finished with 19 points across 32 minutes in the 82-79 win for Toronto, which snapped a 12-game losing streak for the team.
Rice hasn’t played many minutes with all five of those players off the court this season, but in the 101 minutes she has played with Marbey, Sykes and Sabally off the floor, Rice is handling a 23.3% usage rate, which is a 4.6 percentage point lift from her average. Rice is in a subpar spot Sunday, facing the defending champion Aces who rank sixth in defensive rating, but the guard’s expected workload out trumps the matchup concerns, and she should surpass 14.5 points, possibly with ease.
Aliyah Boston O 8.5 Rebounds (-147)
Boston is averaging 8.4 rebounds per game on a career-high 19.1% rebound percentage this season, and she has exceeded 8.5 rebounds in five of her last eight. Up next, Boston is facing the Sky, and she should feast on the glass in this spot.
No team in the WNBA is allowing more rebounds per game than Chicago (36.8), and Boston has flourished as a rebounder in her two matchups with the Sky this season, posting 12 and 11 rebounds. Boston has similar upside tonight and is an awesome bet for over 8.5 rebounds.
Carla Leite U 6.5 Assists (+110)
At this plus-money price, Leite is an awesome bet for under 6.5 assists. The guard is averaging 6.2 assists per game, and she has fallen short of 6.5 assists in 20-of-33 games this season. Leite’s matchup also isn’t appealing by any means, going against the Mystics, who rank third in defensive rating and second-to-last in pace.
Leite has faced Washington twice this season, finishing with nine and five assists in those matchups. The French professional has stayed under 6.5 assists in four consecutive games, and the Mystics should limit her to under that number again Sunday.
