MLB Best Bets for Braves at Brewers for Sunday Night Baseball 8/23/26

To close out another busy Sunday of Major League Baseball, Sunday Night Baseball is in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, hosting the Little League Classic, which features the Atlanta Braves and the Milwaukee Brewers. Nostalgia and storylines always abound in this showcase, and this year, we get a potential playoff preview on top of it. For this special event, Sunday Night Baseball is back on ESPN, with first pitch at 7:00 p.m. ET. Let’s dive into the matchup and take a look at my top three best bets from the player prop market in this Sunday Night Baseball matchup.

Overall, the Brewers are slightly favored at -113 on the Moneyline and are getting 60% of the bets on the Moneyline as of Sunday afternoon. The over/under is 7.5 runs, with 73% of the bets on the over.

For each Major League Baseball matchup, DraftKings Sportsbook has a wide variety of batter and pitcher props on the board, so let’s take a look at my top plays from this fun Sunday night Braves-Brewers matchup.

Braves at Brewers Prop Bets for Sunday 8/23/26

Tyler Mahle Over 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed (+125)

Mahle joined the Braves rotation at the MLB Trade Deadline after starting the season in San Francisco, but the 31-year-old righty has had a rough year overall. He is 4-10 with a 4.53 ERA on the season, and on the road, he is 0-7 with a 6.55 ERA. This is officially a road start, although it’s a neutral field in Williamsport.

He has had much better results in his three starts for the Braves, allowing under this run prop in each of his three outings with Atlanta. He shut out the struggling Yankees in his debut, gave up one run in six innings to the Mets, and then allowed two runs in 6 2/3 in Minnesota. However, even in those three outings, he has a 4.80 xERA and a 44.7% hard-hit rate. The defense behind him has definitely helped him, but he’s also had some good fortune with a BABIP against him of only .244 and a 98.5% LOB%. Typically, those numbers are closer to .300 and 72%, respectively, which could indicate some regression is coming.

I’m not buying the turnaround just yet, and the Brewers’ lineup has been very solid lately, averaging 4.8 runs per game over the last month. Their recent numbers are inflated by their 22-run outburst last week, but they have at least four runs in six of their last seven contests.

Mahle has faced Milwaukee 10 times in his career and has a 4.73 ERA. He shut them out for six innings earlier this season, but they reached him for at least three earned runs in three of his previous four games against them. Even in a slightly pitcher-friendly environment, I love the Brewers to get at least three runs off Mahle as one of my top Braves Brewers Prop Bets for Sunday night.

William Contreras 3+ Hits + Runs + RBI (+170)

Even though he’s a righty, Mahle has struggled this season against righties. Righties have a .293 batting average with a .363 wOBA and .455 SLG against him on the year, and Contreras has been starting to find a good rhythm at the plate, making him one of my favorite spots to attack this Sunday.

Contreras has gone 11-for-24 (.458) over his last six games with two doubles a home run, and a 60.9% hard-hit rate. He has 23 HRR (hits, runs and RBI) during that short span, averaging 3.8 HRR per game and going over this prop line in four of those six games.

While his overall production is still a little below his marks from last year, he has been hot enough lately to love him against Mahle at these odds. In the past, he’s been 1-for-3 with a walk and a double against Mahle.

Matt Olson 2+ Total Bases (+113)

Even in a lefty-lefty matchup, Olson has enough potential to deliver multiple total bases to be a good plus-money prop against Shane Drohan and the Brewers. He has racked up 270 total bases in 130 games (2.1 per game), and he’s hitting .263 against lefties on the year with an .840 OPS. Olson has hit 14 of his 36 homers and 13 of his 31 doubles against lefties, and if he can pick up one of those kinds of hits on Sunday, he will reach this prop on a single swing.

Olson has hit .256 and is averaging 2.3 total bases per game in his 21 games since July 31. He has been under this prop for five straight games and is overdue for a bounce-back performance in this Little League Classic on Sunday.

On the other side of the matchup, Drohan hasn’t been significantly better against lefties or righties, so it’s not a matchup you have to avoid.

If you combine these three Sunday night props into a Same Game Parlay, the odds stack up to a strong +750.
