There is a great semi-final matchup set between Iga Swiatek and Jessica Pegula at the Cincinnati Open. The two will face off at 3:00 p.m. ET on Saturday with a spot in the final on the line.
Here is my pick, prediction and best bet on DraftKings Sportsbook for Saturday’s semi-final match between Iga Swiatek and Jessica Pegula.
Iga Swiatek vs. Jessica Pegula Preview
Iga Swiatek Preview
It has been a great few weeks for Iga Swiatek. Swiatek was having one of the worst seasons of her career, failing to win a WTA title or get to a major semi-final. That was until she went on a run to claim her 12th career WTA 1000 title in Canada. Swiatek is now into the semi-finals in Cincinnati, playing her best tennis of the year ahead of the US Open. Swiatek is right up there with Aryna Sabalenka as the best player in the world when she is playing her A-game. We have not seen that from Swiatek all year until the past few weeks, but she is now a threat to win not just this tournament, but the US Open as well.
Jessica Pegula Preview
It has been an excellent year for Jessica Pegula. While the sport is getting younger and younger, Pegula is playing some of the best tennis of her career at 32 years old. She made the semi-finals at the Australian Open, the quarter-finals at Wimbledon and has won two titles, including a WTA 1000 event in Dubai. She picked up a nice win over Amanda Anisimova to move on to the semi-finals here in Cincinnati. Pegula will hope to ride this momentum into her home major in New York. Pegula made the semi-finals at the US Open last year and the final in 2023. She has a great chance to replicate that success if she keeps up this level of play.
Iga Swiatek vs. Jessica Pegula Pick, Best Bet
My best bet is for Iga Swiatek to win this match in two sets. As good as Pegula has played this year, Swiatek is on another level when she is playing at the top of her game. These two have only faced off once this year, and Swiatek won 6-2, 6-1. It was a dominant performance from Swiatek in May, when she was not in very good form. With Swiatek back at the peak of her powers, she looks unstoppable. She should take care of business in two sets here.
