It’s rare we see a weather delay in the NFL, but just two weeks into the preseason, we have our first interruption. Saturday’s game between the Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns has entered a delay due to lightning in the area.
The delay occurred not even two full minutes’ into the Browns’ home preseason opener at Huntington Bank Field. A pause was put on the action due to severe weather with 13:11 remaining in the first quarter.
Per the NFL rulebook, lightning within 10 miles of the game site results in a 30-minute delay before restarting the game. It is possible that it lasts longer than this half-hour window.
Buffalo is a 1.5-point favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook, with the live total listed at 37.5 combined points. The Bills are listed at -125 on the Moneyline with the Browns at +310 odds to win outright.
Notably, Shedeur Sanders started at quarterback for Cleveland.
