A 15-game, 30-team MLB slate is on tap for Friday. For those looking to cash in quickly on a bet, nothing makes more sense than an NRFI. With that being said, there’s more to this one than meets the eye. Some pitchers thrive early, while others take more time to get settled in than others. Which NRFI picks are worth a closer look on Friday?

Giants vs. Red Sox NRFI (-170)
Logan Webb toes the slab this evening for the visiting Giants. On an otherwise terrible roster, the right-hander continues to do his job. Through 139.0 innings (22 starts), he’s notched a 3.50 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 110 strikeouts (7.1 K/9). In addition, he’s delivered a stellar 81.8% NRFI rate in 2026. The 29-year-old will look to keep rolling this evening at Fenway Park. Boston, for all its recent success, hasn’t been the best at scoring early. The Red Sox have a 25.20% YRFI rate on offense, fifth-worst in the majors. An ace such as Webb is more than capable of keeping these bats in check on Friday.
For the Sox, it’ll be Sonny Gray on the bump. It’s been a terrific debut in Beantown for the veteran hurler. Over 132.2 innings pitched (23 starts), he’s recorded a 2.65 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 117 strikeouts (7.9 K/9). During the month of August, he’s allowed two combined runs during three starts (0.95 ERA). Now, he’ll get to face one of the worst lineups in all of baseball. The Giants underwent a major trade deadline overhaul, shipping off key bats in Luis Arraez and Heliot Ramos. This month, they’ve scored an MLB-worst 52 runs. To make matters worse, San Francisco ranks last in the National League with a 22.05% YRFI rate.
Blue Jays vs. Yankees NRFI (-130)
As of Friday morning, Toronto has yet to announce a starter for tonight’s game. It could be the newly acquired Spencer Arrighetti or a lesser-known reliever. Either way, it probably doesn’t matter. This Yankees offense, in spite of Thursday’s six-run outburst, has been in a rut. That’s especially true at the start of games. New York hasn’t scored a first inning run in each of its previous 19 contests. The Jays stifled this lineup last weekend with opener Braydon Fisher; don’t be shocked if manager John Schneider opts for something similar this evening.
The Pinstripes will send Cam Schlittler out to the mound, making his 27th start of the season. The AL Cy Young candidate has been nothing short of phenomenal so far. Over 152.0 innings pitched, he’s delivered a 2.19 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 189 strikeouts (11.2 K/9). Unsurprisingly, the right-hander has been effective in the first inning (84.6% NRFI). There’s no reason to expect a speed bump tonight in the Bronx. Toronto comes into this one with an MLB-worst 21.71% YRFI rate. That’s without factoring in the continued absence of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (concussion). Schlittler is poised to deliver another dominant outing on Friday.
