Bad sign for the Houston Astros. Star shortstop Jeremy Pena took a fastball off his hand in the first inning, and later was lifted for a pinch-hitter.
The Astros have been wrecked by injuries this year, and Pena has had his fair share of injury struggles as of late. Any absence from Pena would be devastating for a team in a tight playoff race. It’s at least a good sign for Houston that Pena managed to play the field for a couple of innings before being pinch-hit for.
Since Pena exited prior to his second at-bat, he is eligible for DraftKings Early Exit.
