With that being said, there’s more to this one than meets the eye. Some pitchers thrive early, while others take more time to get settled in than others. Which NRFI picks are worth a closer look on Wednesday?

Diamondbacks vs. Red Sox NRFI (-135)
Arizona’s pitching staff has been buoyed by the 2026 resurgence of Brandon Pfaadt. Through 92.2 innings (12 starts), the right-hander has notched a 3.11 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 61 strikeouts (5.9 K/9). Even more important, he’s allowed a first inning run only once over his previous ten appearances. The Red Sox are no pushovers at the plate, turning things around on offense. Still, for whatever reason, this group struggles to get going early at Fenway Park. Their 29.03% YRFI rate at home is the eighth-worst mark in baseball. This lineup only ranks 18th in the majors with a .715 OPS against right-handed pitching.
As for the Red Sox, it’ll be Payton Tolle toeing the slab. It’s been a terrific campaign from the 23-year-old, who looks the part of a rotation mainstay. Over 115.0 innings pitched (20 starts), he’s recorded a 2.97 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 128 strikeouts (10.0 K/9). He comes into this one on a heater, having allowed two earned runs or less in each of his previous four outings. The Diamondbacks usually perform well against left-handed pitching. However, star second baseman Ketel Marte’s absence leaves this lineup somewhat vulnerable. To boot, Arizona has a below-average 25.76% YRFI rate on the road this season.
Yankees vs. Orioles NRFI (+100)
Will Warren has been a roller coaster ride for the Yankees. Despite the occasional flash of brilliance, the right-hander’s season-long numbers are middle of the road. Through 118.0 innings of work (23 starts), he’s on the hook for a 4.42 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 117 strikeouts (8.9 K/9). Still, in the right spot, he’s more than capable of tossing a gem. Over 12.0 innings pitched against Baltimore this season, Warren has allowed just three earned runs (2.25 ERA). Hitting at Camden Yards hasn’t always been easy for the Orioles. They come into Wednesday sporting an MLB-worst 19.05% YRFI rate at home.
The O’s will counter tonight with Chris Bassitt. It’s been a difficult season for the veteran, who hasn’t found much consistency. Over 61.2 innings (11 starts), he’s accounted for a 5.11 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 40 strikeouts (5.8 K/9). Still, he’s been far more effective when taking the mound at home (3.08 ERA). Ignoring Bassitt, this is more about fading New York’s offense. Since July 1st, the Yankees have scored the league’s third-fewest runs (139). The Pinstripes have a 23.88% YRFI rate on the road, 11th-worst in the majors. Even against a subpar hurler, this is not a lineup I’d consider backing right now. At even money, this NRFI wager is worth a closer look for most bettors.
