Bellerive Country Club (par 70, 7,448 yards, bentgrass greens) in St. Louis, Missouri, is hosting the BMW Championship, which is the second of three events for the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Only the top-50 players in the FedEx Cup standings will be competing and there will be no cut. After the BMW Championship, only the top-30 in the standings will advance to the TOUR Championship next week, which will conclude the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Bellerive last hosted the PGA Championship in 2018, which Brooks Koepka (-16) won by two strokes.

Xander Schauffele ($9,900)
Schauffele is on the cusp of winning again. The 10-time PGA TOUR winner has finished T-18, runner-up and T-7 in his last three starts. Schauffele has shot 68 or lower in eight of these past 12 rounds and he has finished inside the top-eight at three of the last four BMW Championships.
Schauffele has competed at Bellerive before, finishing T-35 at the track for the 2018 PGA Championship. While not the greatest finish, Schauffele has won seven times on the PGA TOUR since then, including two majors. The 32-year-old is in a completely different tier of golfer nowadays and Bellerive is a venue that suits him.
This lengthy par 70 sets up to favor efficient drivers and Schauffele has been awesome in that department this season, ranking 10th in total driving. Bellerive also features bentgrass greens and Schauffele ranks fourth in strokes gained per round when we compare this field’s last 50 rounds at courses with bentgrass putting surfaces.
Schauffele is a former TOUR Championship winner, who ranks fourth in this field in strokes gained per round at playoff events, and he is underpriced at this sub-$10,000 salary.
Wyndham Clark ($8,700)
After missing two straight cuts, Clark regained his form at the FedEx St. Jude Championship this past week, finishing T-5. The two-time U.S. Open champion gained strokes in every major category at TPC Southwind, including 4.1 strokes on approach. This ranked ninth for the event and is a great sign, as Clark had lost strokes on approach in back-to-back starts prior to this.
Including this performance, Clark has finished T-13 or better in seven of his past 10 starts. He won THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson and the U.S. Open, and he finished solo third at the Memorial.
Clark has been tough to beat when he has been on this season and if he can maintain the elite form we saw from him this past week, he should flourish at Bellerive.
Nico Echavarria ($6,100)
At this near-minimum salary and with no cut to worry about this week, Echavarria makes a ton of sense. The Columbian is coming off T-12 finishes at the Wyndham Championship and the FedEx St. Jude Championship. Echavarria shot under par in six of these eight rounds, most impressively with a career-low 8-under 62 at Sedgefield CC.
Echavarria also gained strokes off-the-tee in these past two starts, which is a positive sign with the driver-heavy Bellerive up next.
Sitting 42nd in the FedEx Cup standings, Echavarria needs to finish at least T-7 at the BMW Championship to qualify for the TOUR Championship. The three-time PGA TOUR winner should be highly motivated and Echavarria reaching this feat isn’t out of the question given his form.
