Lucky reaches the end of the road Wednesday, August 19, on Apple TV. The seventh and final episode is titled “All Good Things,” runs 44 minutes, and closes the limited series. And here we arrive at the box of dynamite.
Lucky is on her way to Wayne Whittaker when the finale picks up, carrying the FBI’s wire and a decoy phone meant to unlock the stolen millions. Rand believes the pieces are finally arranged: Wayne at the meeting, Priscilla implicated, Lucky cooperating, and the money within reach. The trouble has already started elsewhere.

“Wherever You Go, There You Are” finally gave Lucky and John time to reckon with the childhood they remember very differently. Under FBI supervision, Lucky agreed to surrender the money and help Rand trap Priscilla and Wayne in exchange for immunity and consideration for John. At the hotel, John fondly recalled the scams that formed his education; Lucky remembered missing algebra, crushes, classmates, and all the mundane experiences other children received for free. Her admission that she was simply tired gave their relationship necessary tenderness.
Lucky later recruited Priscilla for the sting and headed toward Wayne wearing a wire, with a decoy phone carrying access to the money. The operation was already collapsing behind her. Gunmen stormed John’s hotel, killed Gates, and burst through his door as Rand drove Lucky toward the meeting.
That leaves “All Good Things” with nearly every important relationship under pressure. John must survive the hotel attack while Lucky walks toward Wayne unaware of what has happened. Priscilla remains caught between Cary’s death, her hatred of Wayne, and an FBI operation that requires her cooperation.
The finale will work best if Lucky trusts the relationships it has spent seven episodes building. The stolen millions and the coming gunfight can supply plenty of propulsion. The lasting stakes belong to Lucky and John, Priscilla’s grief for Cary, and Lucky’s increasingly modest idea of happiness. She no longer dreams especially grandly. She wants somewhere to stay, somebody she can trust, and a life that does not require checking every exit. If the finale can bring its criminal machinery to a satisfying stop while preserving that bruised human longing, Lucky should finish considerably stronger than the stylish caper it first appeared to be.
