UPDATE: Marte is dealing with a personal matter and is day-to-day.
UPDATE: Marte did not show up at Fenway Park prior to tonight’s game against the Red Sox. No reason has been given for the no-show.
On Monday, the Arizona Diamondbacks placed Ketel Marte on the Restricted List. There’s been no reason given as of yet.
Infielder Jose Fernandez was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move.
Marte was removed from Friday’s contest due to left knee soreness. He returned for Sunday’s game and accrued four at-bats.
For Monday’s game, Fernandez will bat seventh and play third base while Ildemaro Vargas will man second base and bat leadoff.
