San Diego Padres at Cleveland Guardians game delayed due to rain Sunday 8/16/26

Update: The Padres at Guardians game is expected to start at 4:50 p.m. ET.

The start of today’s San Diego Padres at Cleveland Guardians matchup has been delayed due to inclement weather. First pitch was originally scheduled for 1:40 p.m. ET, but some incoming rain showers have put a halt to this.

These teams split their first two matchups of the series. The Padres opened things up with a 7-5 victory on Friday before the Guardians got back in the win column with a 6-1 win yesterday. Casey Mize and Tanner Bibee are scheduled to make the start for their respective squads to settle the rubber match whenever the weather allows.

Looking at the odds, the Padres hold +148 odds on DraftKings Sportsbook of covering the -1.5 run line. The Guardians hold -103 odds of winning outright, with the run total set at eight.
