Welcome to my weekly Sunday DraftKings MLB DFS plays. Iโ€™ll break down some of the top picks on the board, including studs and value plays, and explain why these players can lead your lineup to victory.

Top MLB DFS Targets

Pitcher Studs

SP Ryan Weathers (NYY), $8,500: Weathers has been a bit of a punching bag for Yankees fans, but thatโ€™s what happens when you are an above-average pitcher amidst a staff of elite arms. The hard-throwing lefty has allowed only two runs across his last four starts, pitching at least 5.2 innings in each outing. Though the strikeout numbers havenโ€™t been elite, heโ€™s in excellent run-preventing form and gets to do battle with a Blue Jays offense that is 28th in wRC+ over the last month.

Pitcher Value Plays

SP Patrick Sandoval (BOS), $6,600: Itโ€™s tough to find value on a limited board here, but Sandoval is worth the roll of the dice here. In limited exposure with the Sox, Sandoval has done a great job at run prevention with a 3.30 ERA. Though he may not give you a ton of length beyond five or so innings, he should put up solid numbers against a struggling Pittsburgh offense to return good SP2 value.

Infield Studs

C Eduardo Valencia (DET), $4,700: This man is scorching hot. After a 2-for-4 performance with a home run on Saturday, Valencia is up to a .404 average with a 1.291 OPS. In his current five-game hitting streak, the rookie catcher has five extra-base hits, six RBIs, and three runs scored. As long as the power is popping like this, heโ€™s a great play at a thin catcher position.

SS Francisco Lindor (NYM), $4,700: Finally, Lindor is getting into form. He has a hit in seven of his last eight games, with five double-digit DFS performances in that stretch. The speed isnโ€™t what it used to be, but the run-scoring potential is tremendous against a Washington pitching staff that hemorrhages runs.

Infield Value Plays

1B Ty France (SD), $4,100: France is quietly putting together an outstanding season. Going into Saturdayโ€™s action, the journeyman is batting .298 with an .880 OPS, racking up 17 home runs and 51 RBIs. France faces right-hander Tanner Bibee on Sunday, but he has reverse splits this year, hitting better against righties than lefties. Bibee has also allowed a higher batting average to right-handed hitters than left-handed hitters. Itโ€™s a good spot for the Padresโ€™ slugger to produce.

2B Chase Meidroth (CWS), $3,800: Miguel Vargas, Munetaka Murakami, and Colson Montgomery get all of the love for Chicagoโ€™s talented young infield, but Meidroth is quietly becoming a star. The 25-year-old continues to build his game and is on a scorching hot stretch going into Sundayโ€™s action. During his seven-game hitting streak, Meidroth has 12 hits, three home runs, four doubles, four walks, nine RBIs, and six runs scored. That kind of all-around production plays well any day of the week.

3B/SS Brooke Lee (MIN), $3,600: Though Lee went 0-for on Thursday to break his multi-hit streak, heโ€™s still swinging a hot bat. The young Twins infielder is providing surprising power while his bat-to-ball skills continue to grow, making him an appealing play. Facing Phillies starter Andrew Painter and his 6.27 ERA, this is a great spot for Lee to tap into his power and DFS upside.

Outfield Studs

OF Corbin Carroll (ARI), $5,300: Carroll is one of the most expensive outfielders on the board for a reason. Going into Saturdayโ€™s action, Carroll has four straight games of double-digit DFS points. He hits for power, draws walks, and has game-changing speed that provides him with a lot of upside. Braves starter Bryce Elder has a penchant for getting shellacked, which plays right into Carrollโ€™s hands.

Outfield Value Plays

OF Jackson Merrill (SD), $4,300: Scorching hot doesnโ€™t begin to describe Merrill. The Padres outfielder has double-digit DFS points in seven of his last eight games, providing an excellent blend of power and on-base skills. With San Diegoโ€™s offense getting into a rhythm, his run-scoring potential is tremendous. Guardians starter Tanner Bibee has home run problems when it comes to lefties, which gives Merrill significant upside.

OF Trevor Larnach (MIN), $3,800: Hereโ€™s another way to attack struggling Phillies rookie Andrew Painter. Larnach has solid power at the plate, can hit for average, and put together some strong at-bats on Saturday. Though he may not have the highest floor, Larnach has tons of upside if the Twins start teeing off on Painter.
