What happened to Vladimir Guerrero Jr.? Injury updates for Yankees vs. Blue Jays on 8/14/26

Hustle sometimes comes at a price. While scrambling on a chaotic defensive play, Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. collided with Yankees shortstop George Lombard Jr. at third base. Though he did get up and score on the play, the Toronto star left for a defensive substitute in the top of the seventh inning.

It’s unclear what kind of injury Guerrero Jr. sustained, but Lombard’s knee appeared to strike him (unintentionally!) in the chest/shoulder area as the two collided. Frustration builds for Guerrero Jr.; the once-prolific slugger has only seven home runs in 115 games and has yet to hit a home run at the Rogers Centre this season.

Since Guerrero Jr. exited after his third at-bat, he will not be eligible for the DraftKings Early Exit program.

Stay tuned to DK Network for live updates on Guerrero Jr.’s injury status.
