TPC Southwind (par 70, 7,288 yards, Bermuda greens) in Memphis, Tennessee, is hosting the FedEx St. Jude Championship for the fifth year in a row. A PGA TOUR event has been played at TPC Southwind every year since 1958, and at this par 70 a year ago, Justin Rose (-16) defeated J.J. Spaun in a playoff.
The FedEx St. Jude Championship is the first of three playoff events. There will only be 69 players competing and no cut. Afterwards, only the top-50 in the FedEx Cup standings will advance to the BMW Championship next week and only the top-30 will advance to the TOUR Championship in two weeks.
Below, I have featured two of my favorite outright long shot bets to win the FedEx St. Jude Championship on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Sungjae Im (+9400)
Im is overdue for his third PGA TOUR win — he last won at the 2021 Shriners Children’s Open — and this week is a great time for it to happen. Im has had an up-and-down season, but his game is trending up just in time for the playoffs. Im has carded five top-15 finishes this season, three of which have come in his last four starts.
Im has shot under par in eight straight rounds, most recently with a four-under 66 at Sedgefield CC to close out last week’s Wyndham Championship. Im’s putter has been hot, gaining at least 4.0 strokes on the greens in back-to-back starts, and in addition to his promising form, Im has a prowess for TPC Southwind.
In his last four starts at the par 70, Im has finished T12, T6, T40 and T17, respectively. The 28-year-old shot a seven-under 63 in 2022 and a six-under 64 last year. TPC Southwind presents Bermuda greens, which is Im’s favorite type of grass to compete on. Statistically, his putting is far and away at it’s best on Bermuda, and both of his PGA TOUR wins have come at courses with this type of putting surface.
Jacob Bridgeman (+9400)
Bridgeman won the Genesis Invitational in February, which is another big-purse event that featured a stacked field, and while he hasn’t truly contended since, a big performance from Bridgeman could be on the horizon. The 26-year-old has finished T28 or better at three consecutive tournaments, and he gained strokes on approach and with his putter in all these starts.
Bridgeman has shot under par in eight of these past 12 rounds, including a five-under 65 at Detroit Golf Club in his last start. This will be Bridgeman’s second attempt at TPC Southwind after he finished T17 in his debut at the course last year. Bridgeman tallied a six-under 64 in the second round in 2025, and he ranks 11th in this field in strokes gained per round at TPC Southwind.
This season, Bridgeman leads the PGA TOUR in SGP and he ranks third in par four performance. Four of the last five winners at TPC Southwind have finished the event top-12 in both categories, so Bridgeman is a strong match for this track. That is worth rolling the dice on at this +9400 price.
