What happened to Kazuma Okamoto? Injury updates for Blue Jays vs. Red Sox on 8/11/26

It’s #CautionSeason in the MLB. The Toronto Blue Jays, who are dead last in the AL East and struggling to stay in the playoff picture, are keeping one eye on next season, as many teams do. Breakout rookie Kazuma Okamoto has now been scratched for the second day in a row with a knee contusion.

Okamoto was replaced in the lineup by Nathan Lukes, while Charles McAdoo moved from left field to third base. Okamoto, a 30-year-old rookie from Japan, is batting .229 with 24 home runs and 70 RBI. He has been one of Toronto’s most consistent bats in a very rough season for this lineup. Hopefully, Blue Jays manager John Schneider will provide an update on his status soon.
