Lucky Episode 6 arrives Wednesday, August 12, on Apple TV. “Wherever You Go, There You Are” is the penultimate chapter of the seven-episode series.
The timing finds Lucky in a strange place. She spent most of last week grieving Cary while still handling the practical mess he left behind. Then John Armstrong walked out of prison, Billie Rand closed her trap, and Lucky calmly allowed herself to be arrested.
There was something almost weary about the decision. Lucky understood what Rand was doing as soon as John appeared. She had enough experience with traps to recognize this one immediately. Still, she went to see her father.
That choice should carry Episode 6 into more personal territory. Cary’s death has removed the future Lucky spent years trying to reach. John has suddenly returned to the present. Priscilla remains somewhere nearby, carrying her own grief and considerable capacity for violence.

Are We Bad People?” dealt with the immediate fallout from Cary’s death. Lucky recovered access to nearly $10 million through a recording hidden inside his teddy bear, but the money had already lost much of its meaning. Priscilla, meanwhile, confronted Wayne and learned more about Cary’s parentage while trying to contain her grief. Rand made the episode’s decisive move by arranging John Armstrong’s release and waiting for Lucky to find him. Lucky recognized the setup, went to her father anyway, and ended the episode in FBI custody.
Episode 6 should give Rand and Lucky their most substantial confrontation yet. Rand finally has her in custody, while Lucky still has information about Priscilla, the robbery, and the missing money. Cary’s death has also changed the value of several loyalties that previously kept Lucky cautious.
John should matter just as much. Timothy Olyphant has made the affection between father and daughter convincing despite everything he taught her about lying, stealing, and disappearing. With only one episode left afterward, “Wherever You Go, There You Are” should begin resolving that history while bringing Priscilla back toward the center of the story.
