WNBA Best Bets Today: Top Prop Bets for Friday 8/7/26

There are three games of WNBA action taking place across tonight’s Friday slate.

A pair of matchups will be starting at 7:30 p.m. ET. The Connecticut Sun will host the Phoenix Mercury while the Atlanta Dream will challenge the Washington Mystics. Closing out the night at 9:30 p.m. ET, the Golden State Valkyries will play the Dallas Wings.

With plenty of action on the table, there are plenty of ways to get involved on DraftKings Sportsbook. Here are my top player props for tonight’s WNBA slate.

Top WNBA Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Kelsey Plum Over 18.5 Points (-116)

Kelsey Plum is still settling in following the blockbuster trade that sent her to the Phoenix Mercury just ahead of the WNBA trade deadline. She has made two appearances for the Mercury thus far, finishing with 20 and 19 points. This is while she came off the bench in her debut to play 21 minutes and Plum only logged 26 minutes of action in her first start. Both figures are well blow the 32.9 minutes per game she is averaging on the season and 29.9 minutes per game through her career.

Expect the workload to continue to expand for the five-time All-Star as she gets settled in with her new team. Plum has attempted 10 FGA in both matchups in Phoenix thus far, and this is a favorable matchup against the 7-23 Connecticut Sun. While the bulk of their issues fall on the offensive end, ranking 15th in points per game and 15th in offensive rating, Connecticut is still vulnerable defensively. The Sun rank seventh in opponents’ points per game and eighth in defensive rating. They are especially vulnerable in defending opposing guards, with 48.2 points per game coming against opposing guards this season.

Plum has not faced the Sun yet this year, but has tallied over 18.5 points in 10 of her 14 games played. This includes both matchups with the Mercury, even while facing a stiff Atlanta Dream defense in the previous matchup. Expect Phoenix to continue making a clear effort to incorporate their star and generate scoring opportunities for the former champion. Back Plum to tally over 18.5 points for the 11th time this year and third straight game with her new team.

Angel Reese Under 26.5 Points & Rebounds (-117)

It has been a strong overall season for Angel Reese, who enters this game with averages of 16.0 points and 11.7 rebounds per game on the season. The two-time rebounding champion is playing at an especially high level of late, recording double-digit rebounds in 11 of her past 13 and averaging 17.2 points and 11.6 rebounds across this stretch. But this is a tough matchup against a Washington Mystics team with a strong interior defense that is performing at a high level.

Washington arrives on a five-game winning streak and is 17-12 on the season. The Mystics rank second in opponents’ points allowed and third in defensive rating. They also lead the WNBA in rebounds per game and rank second in opponents’ rebounds allowed. Shakira Austin and Kiki Iriafen both play major roles on the interior and pull in 9.2+ rebounds per game.

Reese has faced off with the Mystics twice so far this season and is 1-1 to the 26.5 points and rebounds over/under. She has gone over 26.5 combined points and rebounds in 15 of her 29 games played on the season overall. But expect both Austin and Iriafen to play a major role in preventing Reese from making her desired level of impact on this game. Washington’s defense has been downright dominant of late and expect this to carry into tonight with Reese failing to put up the necessary statical totals to clear this high bar.

Kayla Thornton Over 1.5 Made Three-Pointers (-141)

In the late matchup of tonight’s WNBA slate, the Golden State Valkyries will face off with the Dallas Wings. While Kayla Thornton may not draw the headlines as some other notable names in this matchup, she is in the midst of a strong season and plays a key role on this Valkyries roster. Golden State launches more three-pointers than any team in the league, at 30.6 per contest. The Wings defend the three-point line well, ranking second in opponents’ three-point attempts allowed. But Golden State was still able to get up 25 long-range attempts in the first matchup between these two teams, which would still rank above seven teams in the league if this were their average for the season.

Looking at Thornton’s production directly, the former All-Star is averaging 8.5 points and 4.9 rebounds on the season. Most of her production comes from the perimeter, as she ranks third on the team with 4.7 long-range shots per game. Thornton is averaging 1.7 made three-pointers and has tallied over 1.5 long-range shots in exactly 15 of her 30 games played. This includes shooting 2-for-5 from deep in her first matchup against the Wings, and in five of her past six.

It is impossible to fully stop the Valkyries’ perimeter attack, and Dallas’ best hope will be to slow down their rate of attempts. With Janelle Salaun and Gabby Williams leading the team in perimeter volume, the majority of defensive attention will be sent their direction. Back Thornton to have success relocating and generating perimeter looks to make a difference in this matchup. She has been in incredible form of late and knocked down a pair of three-pointers in the first matchup with this Wings’ squad. Back the veteran sharpshooter to continue punishing defenses when she is left open and tallying over 1.5 made three-pointers for the second time against the Wings and sixth time in her past seven games.
