The Westies returns Sunday, August 9, with its sixth episode, “Rad Tad.” It premieres at 9 p.m. ET on MGM+. Only two episodes will remain afterward.
The series reaches that late-season turn with every major alliance weakening. Jimmy Roarke has entered the cocaine business, Glenn Keenan has been exposed, and Bridget Walsh is approaching her target.
Episode 6 places all three stories inside immediate danger. Jimmy borrows money for another drug deal, Keenan begins applying pressure, and Bridget’s IRA mission finally moves forward.

The Westies episode 6 preview
Jimmy Roarke survived his first independent cocaine purchase only because Mickey Flanagan killed Charlie during the ambush. Jimmy and Mickey escaped with the money and product, but their success immediately attracted John Gotti’s attention. Gotti offered both men a place inside his organization, giving Jimmy another possible route away from Eamon Sweeney.
“Rad Tad” finds Jimmy borrowing money from Ruby Stein for another cocaine deal. He intends to sell the product to a wealthy downtown buyer, but the arrangement quickly falls apart. The failure could leave Jimmy owing money, missing drugs, or answering to another creditor with little patience. Sweeney will likely use the disaster as proof that Jimmy still needs his protection. Gotti may view it as another chance to separate Jimmy from his current boss.
Glenn Keenan also enters the episode with fewer choices. Eddie Breen discovered his wire and exposed his cooperation with the FBI. Sweeney’s men then beat and humiliated him, destroying whatever protection their shared history once provided.
The FBI now wants Keenan to target an older Westie and pressure Sweeney indirectly. That assignment could turn personal after Breen’s attack. Keenan must protect himself while keeping his son Danny away from the retaliation surrounding both sides. Every move against Sweeney could place Danny deeper inside the danger.
Bridget Walsh faces an equally severe decision. Brendan Cahill murdered their explosives supplier after arranging a false payment. Bridget now understands that Cahill’s campaign accepts robbery, murder, and civilian deaths as necessary costs.
Their IRA cell will move against Colonel Markham in Episode 6. Bridget still blames Markham for her parents’ deaths, but Cahill’s methods have changed the meaning of her revenge. The mission also threatens her marriage. Jimmy remains unaware of Bridget’s growing role inside the operation, and the bombing plot may finally make secrecy impossible.
“Rad Tad” should bring the season’s separate conspiracies closer together. Jimmy needs money, Keenan needs leverage, and Bridget needs certainty.
