UPDATE: Mets vs. Pirates has resumed play.
Boy, it’s a tough night on the East Coast for baseball weather. After getting through a couple of innings, the Mets and Pirates are heading into a rain delay.
At the time of the delay, the Mets were leading 1-0 in the top of the third inning on the strength of a Carson Benge RBI single. Zach Thornton is on the mound for New York, opposite Carmen Mlodzinski for Pittsburgh. Depending on the length of the delay, both managers may have to consider fresh arms if we get a restart tonight.
A new start time is not yet known, but as soon as it’s announced, we will update you.
