WNBA Best Bets Today: Top Prop Bets for Thursday, August 6

By: Alex Hunter

Looking for the best WNBA player props today? For Thursday, August 6, my favorite DraftKings Sportsbook picks are Bridget Carleton over 19.5 Points + Rebounds (-129), Jewell Loyd under 8.5 Points (-130) and Natasha Howard over 5.5 Rebounds (-151).

Below, I break down why each prop stands out based on projected role, matchup and recent performance.

Top WNBA Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Bridget Carleton Over 19.5 Points + Rebounds (-129)

Carleton has really stepped up for the Fire lately. In her last five, Carleton is averaging 20.6 points and 6.2 rebounds in 31 minutes per game, all of which are team-highs. The forward is shooting 47.4% from the floor and 49% on three-pointers while garnering a 22.5% usage rate.

Carleton has finished with 23+ PR in all but one of these past five games, most recently with a 24-point and 11-rebound double-double vs. the Sparks on Sunday. Los Angeles ranks third-to-last in defensive rating and Carleton is in an even better spot tonight vs. the Tempo, who rank dead-last in the category. Her strong form should continue and Carleton should clear 19.5 PR, possibly with ease.

Jewell Loyd Under 8.5 Points (-130)

Loyd is in the midst of a career-worst campaign in her 10th season. The 32-year-old is averaging 8.1 points on 36% shooting and she is handling a 14.4% usage rate as a bench player for the Aces, all of which are the worst marks of her professional life.

Loyd hasn’t scored more than six points in three straight, and while tonight presents a plus-matchup vs. the Fever, who rank ninth in defensive rating, she should fall short of 8.5 points.

Loyd has faced Indiana twice this season, scoring 12 and eight points in those matchups. The 12-point outing was a rarity, though, and we should expect something similar to the second performance. A’ja Wilson was inactive when Loyd scored 12 points, resulting in far more usage for the veteran, while the eight-point outing was with Wilson active, which will be the case tonight.

Natasha Howard Over 5.5 Rebounds (-151)

Howard’s rebounding has remained strong despite Napheesa Collier’s return, with Howard posting at least six rebounds in two of the four games with Collier active. Howard is leading the Lynx with 7.8 rebounds in 29.2 minutes per game this season, and she is in a great spot to be active on the glass tonight vs. the Sparks.

Los Angeles leads the league in pace and it is giving up the third-most rebounds per game (35). Howard has thrived as a rebounder in her two matchups vs. the Sparks, grabbing nine and 10 rebounds, respectively, and 5.5 rebounds is way too depressed of a line for her in this spot.
