The Fever are hosting the Aces on Thursday. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Indiana is favored by 1.5 points and this game carries a total of 193.5 points.
Let’s get into my pick and prediction for this contest.
Fever vs. Aces Preview
The Fever and Aces are two of the WNBA’s best teams and both legitimate contenders. The Aces are the No. 2 seed at 21-9 and they rank fourth in net rating after the franchise won it’s third championship in the last four years in 2025. The Fever are two games back of the Aces and are the No. 5 seed at 19-11, but Indiana is one spot ahead of Las Vegas in net rating, ranking third.
This is the third time this season these teams have gone head-to-head and the Fever have had the defending champion’s number. First, Indiana won 84-68 in Las Vegas on July 5. Then, the Fever blew out the Aces again on their home floor exactly a week later on July 12, 109-75.
Both A’ja Wilson and Caitlin Clark missed the first contest, but both superstars played in the second meeting. In the Aces’ defense for the second matchup, the team was playing its second game in two nights. Nevertheless, the Fever destroying the Aces by 34 points on their home floor for their biggest loss of the season was very impressive.
Kelsey Mitchell was dominant in those matchups, scoring 27 points in each tilt, and the key to the Fever running away with a win in the second contest was their defense. Wilson and Jackie Young were held to just 20 and 15 points, respectively, and no other player for Las Vegas scored more than nine points. For perspective, Wilson is leading the league with 26.6 PPG and Young is averaging a career-high 17.8 PPG, including 24+ points in five of her last six.
The Aces being worn down on the second night of back-to-back was definitely a factor in the second matchup and we should expect Wilson and company to be much better tonight with three days of rest in their favor. But, will they be so much better that they finally beat this Fever team that has owned them? That is the question.
Las Vegas is coming off a blowout road win over the Dream on Monday, 109-87, and the Aces have been terrific on the road this season with a 12-4 record. Still, this squad has dropped three of it’s last seven overall. The Fever are on the heels of a 108-100 loss to the top-seeded Lynx on their home floor Sunday, but Indiana had won five straight before that, and the club is 11-5 at home. This matchup could go either way and should be a real treat for WNBA fans.
Fever vs. Aces Pick, Best Bet
This matchup is a real toss up, and while it’s hard to ignore the Fever’s results vs. the Aces this season, I think Las Vegas finally punches back and gets a win. Indiana isn’t holding Wilson to 20 points again, and the red-hot Young should stay hot.
This is only the second time the Aces have been an underdog this season, with the first coming this Monday vs. the Dream, when Las Vegas blew out Atlanta by 22 points on it’s home floor. The Aces are nearly tied with the Lynx for the top road net rating in the league and Las Vegas should add another impressive road win to its resume tonight.
