Four games will take place across tonight’s WNBA slate.
A pair of matchups will take place at 7:00 p.m. ET, with the Phoenix Mercury playing the Atlanta Dream and the Seattle Storm facing the New York Liberty. A half-hour later, the Dallas Wings will challenge the Washington Mystics. In the lone late game, the Los Angeles Sparks and Chicago Sky will play for the third time this season.

Kelsey Plum Over 15.5 Points (-113)
The Phoenix Mercury made headlines just prior to the WNBA trade deadline, bringing on two-time WNBA champion Kelsey Plum. The former Aces and Sparks star suited up for 12 games for Los Angeles this season, posting averages of 23.9 points and 6.4 assists per game. Plum missed over a month of action due to a leg injury prior to the trade, but she stepped back on the floor for her Mercury debut on Monday night.
With the injury and new team in mind, Plum came off the bench and played just 20:32 of game action in her first game back. The five-time All-Star provided a spark, scoring 20 points on 6-for-10 shooting and knocking down three of her five three-point attempts, including a clutch long-range shot to give the team a 103-101 lead with just 53.2 seconds remaining.
While her impending free agency will be a conversation for the offseason, Phoenix brought in one of the WNBA’s brightest stars for a reason and expect her role to only further expand as she settles in. Kahleah Copper is a dynamic backcourt partner that will command plenty of defensive attention of her own, and expect this to free up Plum for more scoring chances. She has scored over 15.5 points in 11 of her 13 games played this year, and there was a clear effort to get her involved in the offense during her Mercury debut. Expect Plum to see her role further expand and for 15.5 points to be too low of a bar for her caliber of scoring talent.
Kiki Iriafen Over 9.5 Rebounds (-112)
The Dallas Wings and Washington Mystics will face off tonight, and the rebounding battle will play a major role in this matchup. Washington has been one of the best rebounding teams in the league this season, ranking first in rebounds per game and third in rebounds allowed. In comparison, the Wings rank fifth in rebounds per game, but 11th in opponent rebounds allowed. The Mystics lean on a dynamic frontcourt of Shakira Austin and Kiki Iriafen to lead this production.
Iriafen has been especially impressive in pulling in rebounds as of late. On the season, the two-time All-Star is posting averages of 15.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. Iriafen is averaging 10.0 rebounds per game across her past 13 games and has tallied over 9.5 boards in 14 of her 25 games played this season. These two teams have faced off twice this season, and the 22-year-old has pulled in nine and 10 rebounds in these two games.
Jessica Shepard is the only player on the Wings averaging over 4.8 rebounds per game, pulling in 11.8 on average on the season. From a matchup perspective, expect Shakira Austin to be primarily tasked with slowing down Shepard on the boards. The Wings’ star forward pulled in 12 rebounds in the first matchup between these two teams but was limited to just six in the most recent matchup. Expect this to be a major factor in the matchup tonight, and for Iriafen to successfully pull in rebounds at a high rate while Shepard and Austin battle it out. Iriafen has tallied over 9.5 rebounds in nine of her last 13 games played, and expect this to carry over in this matchup tonight.
Sydney Taylor Over 18.5 Points (-108)
One of the bigger breakout candidates of this WNBA season has been Sydney Taylor. The Chicago Sky rookie has seen her role expand as the season continues, and she is showing no signs of slowing down. On the season, Taylor is producing averages of 14.7 points and 1.7 assists, shooting 45.6% from the field and 35.5% from beyond the three-point line. Over her past 18 games, the Chicago Sky guard is averaging 18.8 points and 2.1 assists while shooting 48.8% from the field and 41.1% from deep. Taylor has scored over 18.5 points in just eight total games this year, but in four of her past eight games played.
This is a favorable matchup for Taylor to add to her scoring totals against the Los Angeles Sparks tonight. The Sparks enter this matchup allowing 94.3 points per game, which is the worst rate in the WNBA. They also rank 13th in defensive rating, 14th in opponent field-goal percentage and 11th in opponent three-point percentage while giving up the second-most perimeter attempts per game. There was a stretch at the start of the season where the Sparks were producing the worst defensive rating in WNBA history. Los Angeles sits in ninth place in the WNBA standings and five games back from the final playoff seed while being just a few days removed from trading its best player. The Sparks enter this matchup having lost six of their last seven and 11 of their past 15.
Taylor has scored 19 and 15 points in her pair of matchups with the Sparks thus far. It feels as if the bottom is falling out for the Sparks, while Taylor is heating up in this home stretch of the season. The Sky star has been one of the most dynamic scorers in the league as of late and is facing arguably the least resistance of any matchup in the WNBA. She has scored 29+ points in two of her past four matchups, and expect Taylor to remain hot in this favorable matchup tonight.
