A 30-team, 15-game slate makes up Tuesday’s MLB slate. For those looking to cash in quickly on a bet, nothing makes more sense than an NRFI. With that being said, there’s more to this one than meets the eye. Some pitchers thrive early, while others take more time to get settled in than others. Which NRFI picks are worth a closer look on Tuesday?

Ahead of today’s Major League Baseball contests, here are two NRFI bets worth placing on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Mets vs. Guardians NRFI (-140)

Neither pitcher toeing the slab at Progressive Field is anything close to an ace. Still, there’s reason to believe both hurlers can keep things scoreless in the first. For the visiting Mets, it’ll be Sean Manaea on the bump. It’s been a middling season for the veteran, split between the rotation and bullpen. Over 91.2 innings (nine starts), he’s recorded a 4.42 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 88 strikeouts (8.6 K/9). However, this pick is more a reflection of the southpaw’s opponents tonight. The Guardians are a mess offensively, ranking 29th in runs scored (446) and 24th in YRFI rate (25.66%). To boot, Cleveland has notched the third-worst OPS against left-handed pitching (.653). Manaea has surrendered three earned runs combined over his last two outings.

As for the Guards, Joey Cantillo will be making his 24th start of the season. All things considered, it’s been a stellar season for the Honolulu native. Through 113.2 innings pitched, he’s posted a 3.88 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 124 strikeouts (9.8 K/9). The 26-year-old comes into this one with a sparkling 82.6% NRFI rate and an eight-game scoreless first inning streak. It’s not as if tonight’s matchup is the most intimidating either, especially with Juan Soto (calf) injured. The Mets are averaging 4.04 runs per game, fourth-fewest in the majors. That number shrinks down to just 3.78 on the road. In addition, New York owns the league’s eighth-worst YRFI rate (26.55%).

Pirates vs. Brewers NRFI (-150)

In this pivotal NL Central showdown, the Pirates will hand the ball to Jared Jones tonight. While his first few starts didn’t go well, the 24-year-old is slowly starting to look like his old, fireballing self. The third-year pro has allowed six earned runs over his previous 27.0 innings pitched (2.00 ERA). That includes stellar performances against elite Braves and Cubs lineups. The Brewers are another team that sits atop the National League in most hitting categories. However, they’re just 21st in baseball when it comes to YRFI rate (27.68%). Jones, who rarely allows hits (6.6 H/9), could dominate against a contact-oriented Milwaukee offense. He’s given up a first inning run twice over 11 starts this season (81.8% NRFI).

As for the Brew Crew, it’ll be a talented youngster of their own in Logan Henderson. Despite a limited number of starts, the 24-year-old has already established himself as a key piece in this rotation. During nine appearances (44.0 innings), he’s put up a 2.66 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 54 strikeouts (11.0 K/9). Even more impressive, he’s given up a first inning run only once this season (88.9% NRFI). The Pirates are a formidable lineup, but this is a good time to take them on. They’ve scored just 37 runs over their previous ten contests, sixth-fewest in baseball. Key bats such as Ryan O’Hearn (quad) and Oneil Cruz (hand) are on the injured list as well.
